Inside Mattel’s Toy Fair 2026 Booth! MOTU Chronicles & Core Figures Up Close!

[00:00:00] Speaker 1: all right everyone toy habits was invited to the mattel creator's breakfast and we're here at the javits center and mattel has completely taken over the river pavilion this is the grand entrance and we were officially welcomed by mattel so let's hear what they have to say [00:00:22] Speaker 2: creators like yourselves are really the beating heart of these fan communities right without you i don't think that the the passion uh that we see uh today out there would really exist so our partnership really matters uh we have some special surprises for you make sure that you stop by the masters of the universe area because we have something that has never been seen before out there for you all as a surprise and uh and we're excited to share with you once you go through these galleries doors i like to say that our gallery is really a celebration uh it's a celebration of our talented team of designers engineers and marketers it's a celebration of our brands and it's also a celebration of play play is is really at the center of what we do at mattel so uh think of today as a play date thanks for coming over for the play date welcome to our home uh and let's enjoy having some fun thank you [00:01:22] Speaker 1: all right and this is where they let us in and it was so exciting because i've been waiting and waiting and waiting all toy fair to get into this booth and i can't believe it's happening so as we walk down we pass hot wheels we pass barbie and this whole setup is amazing if you haven't been to the river pavilion at the javits center it is massive and we also pass poly pocket they have fisher price displays also the motu display which is outstanding is located right at the end and there is this massive castle grayskull and you see the premium format figures that are absolutely huge and right away we get to see the core line which they are calling so they're not referring to this as first ones that is the project name that they gave for the line so i'm just going to give a little quick overview here here we're moving up to the chronicles line and you can see skeletor battle cat he-man and trap jaw and they also have triclops teela evil lynn and the box versions of skeletor and he-man and you can also see the back of the package for skeletor and again a massive shot of the gaping castle grayskull with that he-man premium format figure and these actually will be for sale later on at a pretty penny but enough talking from me let's hear from the rep as he describes the [00:03:04] Speaker 3: chronicles and core figures hey guys welcome to mo2 obviously very exciting year 2026 we finally have after not only years but decades waiting uh we've got our live action feature film masters of the universe june 5th 2026 worldwide theatrical release only in theaters so as we go into toys here we basically are separated into two different segments we have core and collector core trends a little bit younger but we know there's going to be bleed over from collector why we'll just look at them they're absolutely fantastic incredible sculpts classic 5.5 uh skip 5.5 inch scale 14 points of articulation as well as weapons but the thing that blows my mind this is a us msrp of 9.99 so fantastic price i mean just look at beastman here look at the amount of detail throughout his his sculpt again those 14 points of articulation weapon so for 9.99 i think it's just incredible value so of note in packaging here i'm sure you're all familiar with the traditional masters logo is blue so this is the movie logo which is red which will help out call out the film product there on shelf and we're going to move actually don't i can't forget battle cat here we got battle cat here uh he has a chomping action also hear that growling uh you know beautiful sound coming out of the guttural growl of battle cat exactly but so now we're going to move out of core and up here into collector so this is masters of the universe chronicles chronicles is really about us bringing motu into that premium collector market i think they look absolutely fantastic so we have a brand new 112 scale more in keeping with other premium lines around uh screen accurate details true to talent likeness we went through great lengths to get uh talent agreements with the talent for the likeness so we could go as hyper accurate and detail unquestionably allison brie camilla mendez nicholas galcatin so super super excited uh also of note 30 points of articulation throughout the body the amount of dexterity is incredible and not only that but just incredible levels of details like here you have even skeletor's jaw opens and closes and of course trap jaw i mean his is you know you got to have that so we also have multiple hand sculpts weapons as well we have a premium battle cat here just incredible here so he has a removable armor here with this cowl you can take it off and then as you open and close his jaw you'll see his fangs actually drop down and retract as his mouth uh his jaw opens and closes and then i'll try to get it here so you guys can see it in the light he actually has glass eyes so it really makes him feel lifelike and he actually has incredible amounts of articulation all throughout his body the posability is incredible so chronicles really is about the ultimate and posability playability we've got things like butterfly joints in the shoulders double joints in the knees and elbows i've never seen a figure that could actually unsheathe the sword that has the dexterity there in his shoulder to actually be able to put the sword back into his sheath so just incredible amount of details articulation and the ankles and the hands and the wrists so really again premium ultimate imposability playability also of note is the packaging packaging i think looks fantastic here you get that really premium feel see the premium deco the photography on the back cool little details all throughout the packaging like for instance here we've got the logo here on the corners put the packages together boom there you go you have the logo there calling out that battle of good versus evil and then also of note we finally cracked the dilemma for collectors do you take your figurines out your figures out and pose them or do you leave them in packaging well their packaging is actually now reusable so you can remove the character the figures without damaging the packaging pose them and then put them back in looks like the day you bought it so really really excited again june 5th in theaters [00:07:27] Speaker 1: worldwide theatrical release couldn't be more exciting all right we're going to take a little break from the presentation and we're going to get into trap jaws articulation in his jaw so i asked him to give me a little demo so let's hear from the man himself who did an amazing job describing everything [00:07:50] Speaker 3: we saw there it's it's not a very good demo because the the prototype right now doesn't have a lot of movement in it but it it the jaw 100 will open and close you can see the joint there on the side [00:08:03] Speaker 1: and so it in production it will open and shut all right and now we're going to get into the packaging a little bit and we've seen the boxes and packaging and art revealed before but the presenter gave us a a little bit more information about the yes you heard it collector friendly motu chronicles packaging [00:08:28] Speaker 3: packaging of note is not only does it look great here we've got high-end premium packaging you can see the cool deco and high-end photography as well but nice little touches like you see the logo here put the boxes together actually creates the logo there on shelf and then we have also cracked the dilemma for collectors do you take them out of the packaging ruin the package you can pose them or keep them in packaging we have engineered the packaging to be reusable so you can actually take them out without damaging the packaging pose them and then put them back in looks like the day you bought them [00:09:02] Speaker 1: and there was wild speculation about what this surprise would be but indeed we got to see travis knight not in person but he recorded a very special message to us because they are putting the finishing touches on the masters of the universe movie why is he here why is he in new york well fair questions reasonable [00:09:36] Speaker 4: the answer i am physically unable to be there because we are in the absolute white hot end of days final stages of finishing the film this is defcon cinema i left once popped out for gothu came back to absolute carnage never again that's how i'm buyer's car now masters of the universe this movie this world these characters have met an enormous amount of people possibly too much if i'm honest there have been moments but i'm genuinely thrilled for you to get your first look with the ridiculously talented team of the teller created these figures and toys take the characters off the screen and put them into your hands solid tactile real heft real plastic plastic you can trust plastic that says i'm here and i will outlive you these figures have presence you could defend a small village with them the designs are movie accurate painstakingly so i mean forensic actor likeness is captured down to the smallest detail cheekbones jawlines that slightly intense stare that says i've seen things on attorney these products bring the world of the film to life in a way that will delight fans across the globe young old and those who insist they're just buying them for the kids right let me see you so to the lifelong fans and the new fans who are only now just realizing how cool all this stuff is thank you sincerely your passion and support have been incredible and it means the world to us i can't wait for you to experience these toys and the movie itself and so by the power of grayskull we'll see you in theaters [00:11:12] Speaker 1: all right and we're going to circle back to the figures now we have beast man in the core line we also had the skel knight on display we also had a skeletor which is in a super cool pose showing the havoc staff and i can't believe how detailed these figures are for 9.99 we also had a skel knight in package and i did ask politely for the presenter to turn skel knights packaging around just so i could see the cross cell and here we get our first look at mecha neck who is coming to the line which is super exciting okay now back to teela and the lighting was a little harsh but you know we tried to get some good video of what the core teela looks like and we also have battle cat which has a chomping action and i did not get the chomping action on camera here but i think i posted it in a reel on our instagram and here we're moving back up to the chronicles line and skeletor comes with alternate hands and another weapon and these just look outstanding in person and here's teela here is battle cat again and we found out that he has glass eyes and his jaw moves up and down like you saw in the video before and he-man is on top of battle cat here we have evil lynn and trap jaw and trap jaw also comes with an extra hand an arm cannon and a blade and here is another look at the outstanding packaging roy and team did an outstanding job and we are coming down to battle cat again because it was really hard to maneuver around everybody trying to take video and pictures and here we are at triclops which i think is one of my favorite figures they did an outstanding job with triclops love the detail on his pants here we have another look at skeletor and his details there i mean look at the boots so cool and love the premium format figures oh my gosh look at those eyes all
