Idaho In-N-Out Shooting Press Conference - LIVE Breaking News Coverage (Twin Falls)

[1:10] good afternoon everybody it is steve lookner with agenda free tv police are going to be holding [1:18] a uh press conference on yesterday's in and out burger shooting in twin falls idaho [1:28] [2:18] person the shooter and no motivation given so we'll have to see what they say uh let me just [2:23] really quick here do a couple things here look this is from uh ap here there in and out burger [2:38] employee among three dead in shooting at idaho fast food restaurant owner says what i need to do is [2:47] also get the clock up here oh no oh no put it here okay all right now it's at restaurant in southern idaho the fast food chain's owner said [4:03] my heart is broken my chest is heavy my eyes burn from the tears i've shed we've lost one of our [4:08] beautiful associates tonight said the owner of in and out lindsey snyder in and out will be mourning [4:15] with the families and praying for them as they tread through a very painful season the fbi on sunday [4:21] encouraged the public to submit images and videos related to the shooting yesterday in twin falls [4:26] that left seven other people wounded some critically that in and out had opened just about a week earlier [4:34] wow that i did not know that the in and out had been only open for uh on j the the in and out had [4:43] only open had had opened on july 24th that i didn't know did everybody did everybody else know that i [5:05] didn't know that did our chat know that that it had only been open for eight days people are generally [5:27] saying no one person said yes a couple a few people said yes though some people said they heard it some [5:32] people said they didn't anyways um uh snyder did not identify the worker officials were still trying [5:40] to notify relatives of victims oh with a long gun [7:27] yeah i posted several videos i reposted several videos yesterday two showing the shooter and one [7:34] possibly showing a guy who was trying to shoot at the shooter uh you can see that on my x counted at [7:40] look nerd all right uh give me just a second here um again this is about to start but they have not [7:56] made the video available yet the city city is showing it but they have not uh made it available [8:08] so i have to keep an eye on it what else hold on give me one other moment here uh officials are still [8:16] we're still trying to notify relatives of victims and so we're not yet releasing the names ages or [8:21] other details about people hurting the shooting but maybe that'll happen today police who responded [8:29] the shooting to the shooting found the body of the suspected cut gunman in an area near the restaurant [8:34] it was unclear if the suspect had been included in the fatality count of three uh police had said [8:48] yesterday they believed the threat to the community was over uh witnesses described chaotic scene lane [8:57] kane said he was at a stoplight near the in and out when he saw a person with an ar style rifle emerge [9:02] from the drive-through a man a man with a pistol started firing at the shooter he then saw someone [9:07] in an in-and-out uniform drag a person also wearing a uniform terrible bleeding from a gunshot wound to [9:13] her chest across the parking lot the employee uh cohen and the man with the pistol stayed until [9:19] paramedics arrived for her she was pretty bad off but i don't know i hope she made it kane said [9:25] he said the shooter fired at least three or four rounds and it was not clear whether or not anyone [9:30] in particular was targeted video taken by a driver from across the street captured a shooter who [9:35] appeared to be dressed in black walking up to a white car carrying a long rifle opening the driver's [9:40] side door and then popping the trunk and popping the trunk the person then walked to the trunk and [9:44] reached inside at that point the driver who shot the video left quickly fearing the man might be [9:49] getting more weapons uh nelly rodriguez was inside waiting for food with her daughters when she heard [10:01] shot from the kitchen an employee said it was a shooting and told people to get down rodriguez [10:06] and an older man tried to city mobilized immediately we have committed the full weight of our resources to [20:29] the twin falls police department deploying every investigative and intelligence tool at our disposal [20:37] our evidence response teams and victim services specialists are also on the ground [20:41] working tirelessly to support both the investigation and those impacted the fbi's victim services [20:49] division which administers the victim services response team will be arriving in twin falls to [20:56] work cooperatively with our local state and federal agencies to provide crisis assistance and support [21:02] victims and their families we are standing shoulder to shoulder with our local partners we want to [21:10] ensure a thorough investigation we know that videos and images relating to our community experienced a tragedy that has shaken us all on behalf of the men [22:23] and women the twin falls county sheriff's office twin falls county prosecutor's office coroner's office [22:29] and board of county commissioners i want to extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences [22:34] to the families friends and loved ones who lost their lives as well as to those who were injured in [22:40] today's senseless act of violence in twin falls our thoughts and prayers are with every person whose life [22:45] has been forever changed by this heartbreaking event incidents like this leave an impact that reaches [22:51] far beyond the scene they affect families co-workers first responders and an entire community that now [22:57] agrees together while words can never ease the pain of did say in the press conference i can confirm that [29:21] sorry all right wow terrible all right all right so three dead seven injured so that was confirmed [29:27] in the press conference and we had heard that reported so those numbers the latest number given [29:32] in the press conference was three dead and seven injured now let's see what else he said because we [29:36] couldn't see the first five minutes two of the seven injured are in critical condition not good three [29:51] are in stable condition and two have been treated and released okay so two of the seven injured are in [29:59] critical condition let's hope they survive three have been are in stable condition and two have [30:04] been treated and released not releasing any identities of victims an off-duty officer and a citizen [30:47] both uh tried to stop the shooter i think he they said by shooting at the shooting at the person [30:59] yes an off-duty officer and a citizen both shot at the shooter to try to stop the shooter okay that [31:07] was said in the press conference oh hold on they said they had another officer involved shooting within [31:30] minutes okay so what they said is minutes after the officers arrived there was a an a law an officer [31:48] involved shooting and no one was injured in that incident so they didn't say what happened they said [31:56] it's being reviewed but again uh minutes after law enforcement arrived there was an officer involved [32:03] shooting shooting that nobody was injured in that they're reviewing and they didn't really give any [32:09] more detail about that so i'm not sure what that's about okay so i'm some of you probably heard this [32:26] chad williams 24 years old is the suspect he is dead uh chad williams 24 years old is the suspect [32:40] and he took his own life okay there you go so chad williams 24 [32:46] took his own life he is the shooting suspect all right so again i'm sorry like they didn't take [32:54] questions and uh basically the info was given in the first few minutes and uh the sound wasn't working [33:06] on their feed so it took us a while to get it up on the screen with a different feed um but this chad [33:12] williams is the shooter chad williams shooting suspect 24 dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound [33:27] hang on let's see if they say anything else chad williams family is cooperating with authorities [33:58] it's being investigated i've heard nothing about a motive said they are setting up a seeking victims [34:26] website they say they want us they want the public to not spread unverified information again i'm just [34:41] in case you're just joining us uh the city's feed did had no sound so once that happened i had to [34:50] rush to get a different feed by the time i got the other feed on the air the police had already the [34:56] first police speaker had already spoken and that was basically the only new information they took no [35:02] questions the whole thing was quite short um so uh i'm just going through myself and listening to the [35:09] first speaker just to figure out what information was said give me uh it's almost done so then we'll [35:15] take some comments from you give me one sec it's also possible the city will actually post a version [35:19] with sound which would be nice uh they said the police said that some people online were saying [35:29] somebody named amir manzik was the shooter they say that is absolutely false all right that was [35:58] basically the information from the from the initial from the police so chad williams 24 dead of a [36:04] self-inflicted gunshot wound is the is the uh is the shooting suspect three dead did they even say [36:14] in the press conference whether the three dead included the shooter or somebody else i don't even [36:19] know i didn't hear that um three dead seven injured two of the injured are in critical condition three [36:28] in stable condition two have been treated and released um and uh no motive given yet they have [36:35] not identified any of the victims yet in terms of publicly um and did the city account ever actually [36:44] get sound on it i'm going to go back if i go to play the video i think it's there anymore now when i go [36:58] to yes i am trying to play the city video again there's still no sound on it it looks like they just [37:13] they literally i i don't even know that they can post a version with sound the city because it looks like [37:17] they didn't have any sound when they recorded it did they say three dead and the shooter is that [37:25] what was said hold on hold on i'm just trying to find out where they mentioned that the victims [38:49] sorry i i can't for some reason i want to take some comments from you guys i can't find [38:56] video this context information is completely false and now i found it yeah he said there's three [39:36] victims that are deceased which would imply that one of them is not the that those are not the shooter [39:43] okay that's what he said three victims are deceased um do we know why he did it no so let me again go [39:53] over the uh let me let me just again go over what we heard because again as i mentioned the sound [40:02] literally did not work on the city broadcast and by the time we got to this by the time i got the [40:06] other stream uh the first speaker had spoken for a few minutes and then they took no questions [40:15] so the shooter is chad williams 24. he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound there's no motive yet [40:23] nothing uh his family is cooperating three dead seven injured apparently three dead beside the shooter [40:31] that would have been a nice question that to be asked in the press conference but they took no [40:35] questions um the uh no victims have been identified publicly uh of the seven injured two in critical [40:44] condition three in stable condition two have been treated and released uh two people tried to stop the [40:52] shooter by shooting at him we know uh uh an off-duty police officer and a uh an off-duty police officer [41:03] and a uh citizen they both fired at the shooter also minutes after the police arrived there was an [41:13] officer involved shooting in which no one got hurt and they're looking into this but there was no real [41:21] detail given on that so i don't know what that was about i don't know if that was that the officer [41:25] maybe maybe an officer tried to fire at somebody they thought was the shooter i have no idea they didn't [41:31] say um and uh so that that's that's that's basically what they had they said um yes the press conference [41:53] is over it was but it wasn't even they didn't even take they didn't even take questions let me just put [42:04] this up here so people aren't confused yeah so i'm so i'm sorry that uh there's no i was hoping maybe they [42:20] would get more we would get more information yes as lkw says and we said earlier on the stream that the stream where it was uh uh that um one of the victims was uh a worker [43:15] at the in and out burger uh the owner said one of the people who died um thank you ph survivor for [43:28] mentioning that and for your support of the channel uh let's see here an in and out associate [43:36] said the owner here is and you can see here it says the suspect the suspect died of a self-inflicted [43:54] gunshot wound this is we don't need that uh 24 uh investigators are confident that 24 year old [44:01] chad williams acted alone during the shooting three people died and seven hundreds were injured [44:09] this is what he said two of the injured were treated at a hospital and released three were [44:13] listed in stable condition and two were in critical condition an off-duty state trooper and an armed [44:19] citizen both fired back and diverted the gunman we believe their actions helped drive the suspect away [44:24] from the scene preventing further casualties the chief said one of those kills was an employee the fast [44:30] food chain's owner said and um no victims were identified and i did want to mention this that one witness [44:46] said one witness said that he saw someone in an in and out uniform drag a person who was wearing a [44:53] uniform bleeding from a gunshot wound to her chest across the parking lot the employee uh the witness [45:02] and the man with the pistol stayed until paramedics arrived for her oh yeah a man with a pistol started [45:09] firing at the shooter i don't know scrappy cat says was the employee shot first i have no idea who was [45:25] shot when also there's a video that was yesterday that appeared to show the man the shooter shooting [45:32] a number of shots into a car in the parking lot and it didn't i didn't appear to me that there was [45:38] somebody in the car i'm not sure uh and i they didn't mention that today again would have been a great [45:44] thing for for for a question to be asked in the press conference they took no questions in the press [45:48] conference so i don't know what the deal was with the with the shooting at the car video mq thinks his [45:57] cell phone will get lots of will give lots of answers my my says says my cs says why did they [46:14] have to take complete strangers out with them now midnight special says maybe former employee look [46:25] that's a good question did this person have any connection to this in and out or in and out in [46:29] general did he what did he know any of the victims we don't know did i don't even know that [46:39] they said where he's from i think they just identified him as twin 24 year old chad williams [46:46] let me just see something here i'll also check their page again crazy that the city showed it and then [47:35] there was no sound yeah there's show the shooter shooting at a car and they didn't talk about that oh now also um one of the viewers [48:56] mentioned fantasy that some in and outs they have somebody taking orders outside i don't know that [49:01] they'd had that here uh did they you know did they um did this person write a manifesto or something or [49:21] or communicate to anyone anything about this we don't know tj adams says it had only been open like [49:31] nine days i guess he could have worked there yeah i mean our viewer cast case said uh did you know could [49:39] there have been in some domestic situation we just we did we do not know if he knew any of the victims [49:45] if he had any connection to in and out if he had connection to the victims if i don't think we know [49:51] if he's from the town yeah and it appeared from the video one of our videos said did he shoot up a [50:06] tesla car sam patton said that and again i have posted videos that i could i don't have the right to [50:12] show the videos clips but i posted several of them yesterday but there is one that appears to show him [50:19] shooting at a i think it's a tesla i'm not positive i'll post the link in the chat to that [50:30] it you don't appear to see anybody in the car and it's like that car is in that video i just posted [50:38] the link in the chat it's it's in the parking lot but i don't even know if it's the in it's a parking [50:45] lot in the area but you don't it's not like you don't see the restaurant in the actual shot so it's [50:51] not right next to the restaurant and then he kind of just starts walking away with the gun kind of [50:59] through the parking lot strange idaho sarastar says it's on the side of the restaurant of that uh [51:10] it's he there's it's basically there's like some tesla chargers no when you hear monk of doom that a [51:20] witness said they were shooting in the kitchen i think uh that's not clear it could that the person [51:25] could have just meant that it sounded like it was coming from the kitchen but the person was shooting [51:29] in from outside so uh there's i know ap had a had a witness who talked about who said um a witness [51:40] said was was inside waiting for food when she heard shots from the kitchen an employee said it was a [51:46] shooting until people to get down but that doesn't mean there was somebody in the kitchen i mean this [51:49] person could have put their gun in through the window and shot or something now kaya thinks to it [51:59] now i don't know about this kaya thinks two of the victims were charging their tesla this is a good [52:04] question i i don't know if anyone shot was shot in the parking lot we we haven't heard this hang on a [52:14] moment here that's a very good question the shooting happened yesterday now icicle thinks there were two [52:49] people in the car i couldn't see anyone in the car yes he shot it appeared in that video he shot [52:57] through the front window of the car i'll post the link to that video again it's not my video but i'll post [53:06] the link to the video again of the of the guy appearing to shoot appearing the apparent suspect [53:11] shooting a car in the parking lot then there was another car next to it and he didn't shoot that [53:18] one oh i see it there was a guy who was shot while charging his tesla okay now i see i hadn't seen this [53:46] today so ktvb said um that terry dudley a driver with north star taxi was hospitalized after he was shot [54:02] twice while charging his tesla uh the in there's a gofundme for him which i haven't you know really [54:21] the ktvb mentioned a gofundme for this guy and then the gofundme said he was shot twice in the back [54:29] while charging his tesla terry dudley i'll post a link to the story about that from ktvb you can read [55:19] about terry dudley so he was shot and injured while charging his tesla terrible oh people are saying [56:09] that now i just posted a link from ktvb from an hour ago and they said an hour ago he was injured [56:21] literally it's on their website right now now some of our viewers are saying he died but the ktvb [56:29] article i'm reading it right now says he is among the injured it doesn't say he died so i don't know [56:38] where people in yeah i don't know where somebody in the chat is getting information that he died [56:42] uh doesn't say anything about this doesn't say anything about his wife it just says him [56:47] hang on let me check this one i have another idea of how to get some more information [58:13] so we'll have to see i mean again we have hardly any information about the shooter we know it's chad [58:23] williams 24 years old and he shot himself and his family is cooperating here and again here is [58:50] this picture from the ap from their then there's the one of them shooting into the car in the parking lot and then [59:17] there's one of a person who appears to be shooting at the shooter with a handgun and he goes into that [59:32] car i think that's his car i think that's his car it seems to go into it um so let me just for people [59:43] who didn't see it uh the link link one which is to the video of him shooting in into a car that's that [59:52] one link two which is the video of the guy with his it with his long gun at the in and out there and then [1:00:05] link three is the one of the person appearing to shoot at him again both a citizen and an off-duty [1:00:14] officer tried to stop the shooter by shooting at him the police said today uh noel gilliland says [1:00:25] domestic terrorism no lolazor there's been nothing about a motive from police lolzor is nothing about [1:00:32] a motive lolly lollipop says video shows a shooter putting multiple shots into it the tesla windshield [1:00:55] uh courtney say courtney rate jake says what is wrong with people with all these shootings [1:01:00] no uh the audio never appeared on the press conference on the city site and the way i got [1:01:13] my stream there's no i have no audio for it either now i have i don't have the audio for the part i [1:01:19] i missed before i was able to get it on the screen which is the part you'd want to see but they never [1:01:27] they literally still have the video posted on the city site with no audio so i listened to it from [1:01:34] another source after quickly and just told you what i heard they didn't take any questions [1:01:39] no questions a couple other people sent me messages here hold on yeah by the way thanks [1:02:21] idaho star who sent me something from to idaho news that also reported that tedly that terry dudley [1:02:27] was one of the people who was injured charging his tesla and again reportedly he got shot twice in the [1:02:39] back i will post a link to the story that uh idaho star sent me from to idaho news which is also [1:02:55] about terry dudley and also has information about the gofundme in the story i have not the gofundme [1:03:05] all i know about the gofundme was mentioned in those two stories by the way i'm not aware of [1:03:11] like a city if i knew of like a city gofundme for all the victims or something i tell you i'm not aware [1:03:16] of that at this time all right well you know maybe maybe if they do another press conference in the [1:03:39] next couple days where we think that there's going to be a bunch more information about the motive or [1:03:45] something or just the whole thing we can cover that but there was just not that much not that much [1:03:54] new information today but look he did i mean it's terrible the person killed three people and [1:03:59] injured seven people and two of those are in critical condition sarcasm btc says many missing links [1:04:11] uh we don't know where he got whatever weapon or weapons he used right we don't know that we really [1:04:20] don't know much about the shooter at all yeah uh richard c chon says what does his social media account [1:04:35] look like i'm assuming that people are looking for it or them now you know sometimes let me look up [1:04:41] something i had an idea there are certain places where people tend to post about that stuff although [1:04:52] i haven't widely seen stuff about it on the internet i haven't seen posts uh the police did mention today [1:05:05] that a bunch of people online were saying a different name as the shooter and they're saying that's not him [1:05:11] and the police were saying you should people shouldn't share unverified information about this [1:05:15] yeah i don't know i i i i do i'm guessing maybe people at this point are gonna go around and try [1:05:39] now that there's a name of the shooter shooting suspect they're gonna try to find out more about [1:05:46] this person but i haven't seen so far at least when i've been looking uh people posting online saying [1:05:55] this is his this is chad mitchell's social media uh gina rodriguez says my daughter was working when [1:06:39] this happened do you mean working at the place sorry i just flew by let me try to find that comment [1:06:45] again um gina rodriguez ahern says my daughter was working while this happened we are from california [1:06:52] and still in the darkest what is to what transpired do you mean working at the at the in and out if so [1:06:58] i'm glad she i hope she's okay sounds like she's okay uh lee arjun says did the person shooting about the fire [1:10:58] fires we were covering yesterday in spokane um about 600 homes businesses and other buildings [1:11:07] have been destroyed by wildfires that remained uncontained contained sunday and eastern washington [1:11:14] state authority said the fires burned more than 8.2 square miles around spokane the second largest city [1:11:21] in washington and yeah again over krem says over 600 structures have been lost i don't know how many of [1:11:58] them are our houses yes so krem said k-i-i-k-r-e-m c-b-s said they talked to somebody from a california [1:12:16] official who said it was it was unclear how many of the structures burned were homes at this time seems [1:12:23] like that's not actually there's no firm number about that right now from what i can gather from what [1:12:29] i just saw there uh there are videos floating around showing like lots of houses that are gone [1:12:43] many many homes is getting brave so uh hang on a moment here has has anyone died from the fires i [1:13:14] have not heard about it but i'm kind of getting to everything late today it was very busy yesterday so [1:13:19] i'm not very caught up on anything i have not heard of anybody who died in the in the fires all right um [1:13:27] oh and by the way uh the spokes uh the uh az intel had mentioned this to me the spokesman review newspaper [1:13:35] in spokane said that the fire the old trails fire had destroyed 640 structures i don't know how many [1:13:44] of those were homes and they have a they talked to a fire official who said many of the homes that were [1:13:52] lost were in the spokane city limits oh um so i will say this there's a quote from the spokes the the [1:14:13] the spokesman review in spokane talked to a fire official uh who said that based on radio traffic [1:14:24] they do in it is it is it will be anticipated that there were lives lost now i haven't heard of any [1:14:31] confirmed but again that's a quote from a fire official who told the spokesman review that based [1:14:39] on radio traffic they think there will turn out to be lives lost which is terrible yes as getting [1:15:03] brave said there's no confirmed news about that yet but that's not an encouraging quote there all [1:15:20] right look i am going to um hang on a moment here all right so look we came on the air to cover the [1:15:31] press conference uh again it got really messed up because the sound on the city's press the city was [1:15:38] showing the press conference their sound never worked uh so when that happened i had to rush to [1:15:45] get a different street feed on the stream by the time i got the different feed up uh the first speaker [1:15:54] had spoken for a few minutes it wasn't that long and that was really the only new information given was [1:15:59] from the first speaker and they didn't take any questions so i greatly apologize for what happened [1:16:07] with and then and then i couldn't even the version that i got couldn't even be replayed so i couldn't [1:16:15] replay you that speaker myself so i had to listen it to hear myself and then tell you what i heard so [1:16:21] usually it doesn't work out like this i greatly apologize for what happened but again there we uh we uh [1:16:29] at least got you the information so and again i will keep an eye out i mean we have we know so little [1:16:35] about this uh shooter and the circumstances here that um if i find out there's going to be some [1:16:42] next another press conference with a lot more information or something we can we can always do [1:16:46] another stream on it or cover on another stream so um i'm going to start wrapping up this stream but [1:16:52] but but um but uh if um if there's big news later today i can do another stream [1:21:37] state system that covers every well there's no like nationwide system that covers every everyone [1:21:43] um in a case like this would there be some fun to help people out that would be set up i i don't [1:21:49] know um so i don't have a good answer for you but there's no again there's no that's if there's going [1:21:58] to be some state help for the victims or local help for the victims that's going to be up to them [1:22:04] uh so um you know look i mean there's already a gofundme for one of the victims that i'm sure they're [1:22:13] looking for help for him yeah that's looking for help for him and it's not you know who knows if [1:22:18] people have physical therapy after and all these things so yeah i can't certainly uh certainly it would [1:22:26] seem that if you are in a victim in a in a case if you're wounded in a case like this um it could be [1:22:33] a very significant financial burden because maybe you can't work i don't know what your insurance [1:22:38] might have a big deductible then maybe there's uh i don't know how much the insurance covers if [1:22:43] you need ongoing treatment so this is this is not my field of expertise um trash no mancer says [1:22:52] hospitals will treat them but it's up to them to figure out the finance so there could be there [1:22:57] certainly could be cases in in some kind of disastrous situation like this where some kind of government [1:23:03] entity self-sense up some kind of fund but that's not standard that's my not great not expert answer [1:23:15] to your question if that's what you were
