[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Something I've always, always dreamed of, and we actually have access to one of them now. I recently attended one of the largest pop culture conventions in America, so I could visit one booth. I love attending conventions, and arriving at large cons is always such a delight. This one was actually filled with some of the coolest vendors I've seen across all the cons I've been to. They had it all. Legos, Jurassic, Ghostbusters, um, more Ghostbusters? But you know me. When I arrive at conventions, there's only one thing on my mind. Godzilla. Lots of booths featured Godzilla figures, but a few of them really stood out to me. Dude, they got so much good stuff. There was this one, which had that seamless Mezco Godzilla 54. Man, I wanted that one so bad. But this one was one of my favorite booths across the whole convention hall. It featured dozens of rare and vintage kaiju figures. There were so many amazing figures at this booth, and so many I wanted so badly, especially that Kong back there. I wish I could have gotten them all, but sadly I walked away with none of them. Upon entrance to the convention hall, I saw the Superbad Action Figures booth. This let me get an up-close look at the enormous Prime 1 Studio Godzilla 2023 in person, for the first time after months of talking about it on the channel. He lights up his spines, do the things in the movie that go one at a time. It's a place now. Yeah. It's Godzilla. That's a really cool one. I don't know. It is amazing to see in person. It's huge. Look at this. Nice. From the right angle, Godzilla even looks like he's posed in that original Godzilla minus one reveal image and poster pose. Check this incredible recreation of the Ginza Waco clock tower out. That even included the Tokyo PX sign from the film. It also features identical damage to what it sustained during the movie. Having seen the Ginza clock tower in real life, this is an excellent recreation of it. A staff member was even kind enough to show us that if you lift up that little trolley, like the one Godzilla hurls in the film, and press a little hidden button under it, Godzilla's spines charge up identical to the movie. That's so sick. As awesome as that was, though, the real reason I dropped everything I was doing to go to the convention was because I learned Paragon FX Group had a booth. They make the highest quality prop replicas and collectibles on the market. And I want to give a huge thank you to everyone at the Paragon FX Group booth for letting us in and giving us up-close exclusive access to their incredible work so we could all take a look at it together. First up, let's take a look at their Godzilla 1954 glass ornaments. I was most excited to see Dr. Serizawa and the Oxygen Destroyer because for too many years, Serizawa and the Oxygen Destroyer have been completely underrepresented, and I'm so glad to see that changing in recent years. Which leads us to their Dr. Serizawa Aquarium Bubbler. This is one of the coolest and most creative collectibles I've ever seen. I love it, I don't even know how you think of something like this. The details on the suit and helmet turned out amazing. And here we have the aftermath of Serizawa's work. The Godzilla Skeleton Aquarium Bubbler. It's based on one of my favorite visuals from the 1954 film. I love the pose and the detailing of this sculpt. The packaging also looks great with that classic Godzilla King of the Monsters logo. And look at this! The Godzilla and Mechagodzilla 1974 treetoppers. These roar and feature LEDs that combine with this mist effect to allow the King of the Monsters and the Magnificent Machine to unleash their heat rays. I love these! This one's one of my favorite Godzilla suits and I love how well it translated here. Mechagodzilla is also so detailed, I love his glowing eyes. The box art is also great, man I couldn't get enough of that. It's like based on the VHS-looking art. I guess it's more like the poster, but very cool. This was an excellent way to pay tribute to the iconic poster art. There's also these super cool red and purple limited edition metallic versions. And while these were designed for trees, I think my actual personal favorite use of one of these comes from KaijuCowboy95 on Instagram, who turned theirs into a topper for their rotating DVD rack. That is awesome. And with that, we have an exclusive look at their upcoming Jet Jaguar head replica. Here we have a sneak peek at the upcoming Jet Jaguar one-to-one head. This is an upcoming project, so details to be determined later. It is a one-to-one accurate recreation of the original Jet Jaguar head, including this little feature right here, which is actually something I only just recently learned about. This little antenna on the top, which is one of my new favorite details of the head. And obviously the ears that come out with glowing LED eyes. More details to come on that soon, but today we'll take an up-close look at the new Jet Jaguar head. Now, this is just an early prototype of what will eventually become their more polished work. But this is a one-to-one replica of the original Jet Jaguar head, featured on the suit worn all the way back in 1973. I actually had the honor of seeing Toho's amazing Jet Jaguar suit recreation in person back at Godzilla Fest 2023. And I'll tell you, this prototype looks so similar, they did such a great job capturing Jet Jaguar's likeness. The head looks perfectly sized to the suit. Wait a minute. I wonder if I'd be able to stuff my head in there to become the protector of Japan. This is a prototype Jet Jaguar head. It is a one-to-one replica of the original Jet Jaguar, but it is a prototype. Currently, this is only a 3D-printed iteration of it as they start to work out some of the kinks with it. But this gives us a bit of a look at where we're headed with this and what we can expect when it finally actually comes out. And with all of that, one of my dreams just came true. All right, we are here at the Paragon booth getting an exclusive look at the new Oxygen Destroyer one-to-one replica created from the original Oxygen Destroyer itself, the surviving prop. And we're going to take a look at it. It is nice and heavy. It's weighted. It's metal and glass built to be an exact replica of the original prop from 1954. And it's got a functioning inner chamber and functioning gauge right here. And they were telling me a fun detail about it is that there's two Oxygen Destroyer props for the original movie. One that function and activates and one that was just completely solid. And the one that activates has these mysterious little rods off to the side of it. And so in order to capture the spirit of both Oxygen Destroyers, they put in a mechanism here that when you turn, not only does it open and close the actual activation device, but it ejects those little rods as well so that it is accurate to both iterations of the Oxygen Destroyer. Here's our nice exclusive look at it. And a dream come true for me to finally hold an Oxygen Destroyer, an actual one-to-one replica of it. Something I've always, always dreamed of is to have my own or to hold my own Oxygen Destroyer. And so here we have three out of 300, only 300 of these things were made and we actually have access to one of them now. Truly amazing. Check this out. Here we have my favorite Godzilla collectible ever made. This is a one-to-one replica of the original Oxygen Destroyer from Godzilla 1954. This is definitively the most iconic prop from the entire Godzilla franchise and one of the most recognizable props from all of Japanese science fiction cinema. My body melts to the bone just looking at it. So the Paragon team studied the original Oxygen Destroyer prop, which they 3D scanned to create this metal replica. It even features this control panel, which can be twisted to open up the central micro-oxygen capsule and activate the amperage gauge. It's like over a week later, I still can't believe I actually got to hold this incredible work of art. Ever since I first watched Godzilla as a kid, I've wondered what it would be like to hold the Oxygen Destroyer with my own hands. And standing there, I finally had that answer. The weight was exactly how I always imagined it to be. Heavy and grand. It felt really important to hold. I was so nervous about picking it up. I didn't even want to lift it that high above that little stand. It was just so special. This is my love for Godzilla recreated in a museum-quality replica. I'm so excited to show it to you guys. The Oxygen Destroyer is also so much bigger in person than I guess I imagine. I love how well they brought this thing to life. The metal was so shiny. I can imagine this is what Dr. Serra's always looked like when it was brand new. It's so cool. Something I learned from Raya Paragon is that there were actually multiple Oxygen Destroyer props made. The most famous version might be the one that Guillermo del Toro recently held during his Toho Studios visit. Right before he decapitated a Jaguar. Something I would never do. But the other version included these strange metal rods at the end. I believe that one has a working central capsule. And I love Paragon's solution here because those little rods are not consistent across the two props. So instead, they made them retract as the central capsule closes. It's accurate to both versions. It's so cool. And I've not stopped thinking about how fun that was to learn since I heard it. This is probably going to become one of my go-to Oxygen Destroyer trivia pieces from now on. And with that, the convention comes to an end. I want to give another huge thank you to Rai, Amy, Rhonda, and everyone at ParagonFX Group for their amazing work in these collectibles. They make them with such passion and care for the material. They really care about the legacy and history of Godzilla, and it shows in every single one of these. And thank you to them for giving me an up-close look at these so I could share them with you all. You guys made my dream come true. Let me know what you guys think of these down below, and I'd love to know, what is your dream Godzilla prop? Besides the Oxygen Destroyer, of course. And with that, the convention comes to an end. Thank you guys so much for tuning in. I really appreciate it. I will see you guys all next time for the next one. D-Man out.
