[0:00] One campaign to keep a U.S. House seat, two federal investigations, all involving one woman at
[0:05] the center of all of that, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. She says subpoenas targeting her family
[0:11] and questions about millions of dollars in reported assets are political retaliation.
[0:15] Vice President J.D. Vance says the facts will determine what happens next with her.
[0:21] The questions surrounding one of the left's most outspoken lawmakers,
[0:25] well, they're getting deeper, and the search for answers heating up.
[0:29] You're watching Outnumbered. I'm Harris Faulkner. Joining us today, Lisa Booth, Fox News,
[0:34] political analyst, Kayleigh McGee-White, Fox News contributor, joining us on the couch for the
[0:38] very first time, and we welcome her. Jennifer Wee.
[0:41] Thank you. Welcome.
[0:42] Actress, songwriter, entrepreneur, and more. We'll get into it with her.
[0:46] Paul Morrow, attorney, retired NYPD inspector, Fox News contributor, and host of the weekly rap sheet
[0:52] on Fox Nation. Well, the scrutiny surrounding, well, we used to call her the squad member,
[0:59] but now she's so far left. It's even that doesn't fit.
[1:03] Those things are reaching epic proportions beyond Omar herself now.
[1:08] Federal investigations have been, are subpoenaing Omar's sister and at least one
[1:13] other family member as part of a criminal fraud probe.
[1:17] Investigators are also looking into her family's immigration history,
[1:21] including whether her late father provided false or incomplete information on immigration forms.
[1:28] No findings of wrongdoing have been announced, and the investigation does not establish that
[1:33] Omar or her relatives committed a crime. Fox News Digital got reaction from the vice president.
[1:41] Iliana Omar herself is a very unprecedented person. We have very rarely had a person in Congress who
[1:47] seems to have such disdain and such rage at the country that gave her a better life. Now, that's not a crime,
[1:54] but we're going to see whether she did commit a crime. If she did, we're obviously going to follow the law.
[1:58] U.S. Attorney Janine Pirro has confirmed a separate investigation now into Omar's financial disclosures.
[2:04] Her assets were initially reported at around $30 million, her personal assets, and then she changed
[2:11] that figure sometime later to adjust it to $125,000. $30 million, $125,000.
[2:18] Pirro tells Fox News her office will follow the money.
[2:22] So what about these financial disclosures? She was given a pass by the house ethics,
[2:27] but somehow $30 million magically appeared, then it magically disappeared.
[2:33] Well, I can tell you that is subject of an investigation as well.
[2:36] We're looking at the facts. Based upon the facts, we'll follow them wherever they take us.
[2:41] All right, this is your office that's doing this?
[2:43] Yep.
[2:44] Yeah, this is not the only controversy surrounding Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
[2:51] A 2019 records change is raising some questions after congressional staff requested that Omar's birth year
[2:58] be changed from 1981 to 82. Critics say the one-year difference could actually affect her claim
[3:04] that she obtained citizenship as a minor through her dad. Omar's spokesperson is responding to the
[3:11] controversy saying, quote, this raid by Trump's DHS is an outrageous abuse of power and an unprecedented
[3:17] escalation in the weaponization of federal law enforcement to target political enemies.
[3:22] For a decade, Donald Trump has relentlessly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Now, again,
[3:28] this is all a quote. Through his inflammatory rhetoric, repeatedly putting a target on her back.
[3:35] Lisa, I remember when she said no one is above the law, and if they want to investigate her,
[3:39] she can. Now, that wasn't yesterday. That was quite some time ago. So what did she know that we
[3:43] would be at this point? Was that a taunt?
[3:45] Well, it might have been. I mean, look, we know that a search warrant means a federal judge found
[3:50] some sort of probable cause. There are subpoenas here, so an ongoing investigation.
[3:55] I do think you have to be careful with some of the weaponization of government. I mean, look,
[3:58] you can go back to President Obama, who started all of this with Operation Crossfire Hurricane,
[4:03] and then you saw Biden with that unprecedented raid against President Trump. But you got to be careful
[4:11] because you look at the Democrats' attacks against President Trump. It only fueled his fire. I mean,
[4:15] he ended up going on in 2024 winning all seven swing states and the popular votes. So if you take
[4:20] a swing politically, you got to hit. You got to make contact and win here. So we'll follow this
[4:25] investigation. But I do think more broadly, we should have a conversation about immigration in
[4:30] this country. You look at now almost 15% of the country is foreign-born. That changes the fabric of
[4:35] the nation. And we have to be really careful about allowing people in here from countries like Somalia,
[4:40] for instance, where you've got a failed state with the government, where you've got terrorists
[4:45] have such a strong foothold, where you have people whose viewpoints are antithetical to here in the
[4:49] United States. And you see that play out with Representative Ilhan Omar, someone who of 9-11 said
[4:54] some people did something. Someone who called America one of the worst countries. And then you look
[4:59] at Minneapolis, Minnesota, where you have all this fraud. A lot of it involved people from Somalia,
[5:03] allegations of sending money abroad to terrorist organizations there. So I do think we need to have a broader
[5:09] conversation of, you know, we've been told so long that immigration is a strength. And I think a lot of
[5:14] Americans are asking themselves, well, you know, is it?
[5:17] So what's fascinating with that 15% is how close it is to where France is right now.
[5:22] Exactly. Yeah, it's around between 16 and 20%. And I hadn't thought about it, but yeah,
[5:26] that's a different number in terms of population because we're bigger. But maybe it's a telltale sign that
[5:33] we could go there. And we keep hearing it from people. I mean, Jason Chaffetz just told me that
[5:37] on the Faulkner Focus. Jennifer, I'm going to come to you and get your thoughts. Do you think
[5:41] voters care about this sort of thing? I think voters absolutely care about it. And I think
[5:45] what's scary is that she's made criticizing remarks about our country. And she was elected and she's
[5:52] elected to help run our country. So my question is, is she trying to bring our country up or is she trying
[5:58] to tear it down? And I think that's something that we all have to ask. And I also think, you know,
[6:03] she's in public office and that's a privilege and it's not a shield. And so, you know, I think
[6:09] if she wants the American people to trust her, she's got a welcome accountability and we need to
[6:14] follow the facts. She has 20 days to get that done. Wow. Yeah, I love that, though. It's not a shield.
[6:21] It's not. Yeah. Kaylee. Well, I would just say on the point of whether this amounts to
[6:26] weaponization of government, it was actually the Biden DOJ that launched the original investigation
[6:31] into Ilhan Omar's campaign finances in particular. So this even predates the Trump administration.
[6:37] And there are multiple other threads that maybe they will all come together. There are obviously
[6:41] the immigration concerns. There are the campaign finance concerns. There's the potential fraud
[6:45] concerns up in Minnesota with the Somali community. So it seems like this is a much bigger case than we
[6:50] even really have an ability to grasp right now, which is why I think you had that federal judge sign off
[6:56] on the warrant in the first place. You know, it's interesting, too, about what you just said.
[7:00] Look at how deeply this administration has looked at Minnesota, because there was so
[7:04] much to find. I wonder if they didn't maybe unearth things along the way.
[7:09] Oh, I'm sure that they did, which is why this is now coming to fruition. And maybe there's a little
[7:13] bit of a political angle that they sat on this until right before the midterm elections, perhaps to boost
[7:18] momentum among Republican voters who do want accountability for fraud, who do want accountability
[7:22] for this sort of stuff. But look, I'll just say there's a very easy way for Ilana Omar to face
[7:28] accountability right now, which is that her democratic colleagues in Congress could call on
[7:32] her to resign immediately. Or if she refuses to do that voluntarily, they could vote to expel her.
[7:38] George Santos was expelled from Congress for less than the accusations that she is currently facing.
[7:43] So, you know, yes, let's wait and see what the investigation actually turns out.
[7:48] But that does not mean that she should be a sitting member of Congress right now
[7:51] with access to potentially confidential information, with access to a national security clearance.
[7:57] She should go.
[7:58] I hear what you're saying about being an extension from the Biden administration,
[8:02] but the problem is you use political capital when you go after these sorts of things.
[8:06] Like, for instance, the efforts against Comey and Tish James fell apart.
[8:11] So then the base ends up getting angry because you've just told them you're going to deliver a scalp
[8:15] and then you don't. And so people feel like it's just false promises that they're being given.
[8:19] And then in the process, you also potentially alienate independence who get upset as well.
[8:23] So it's like if you're going to take the swing, just don't miss is the point I'm making.
[8:28] Ensure that it's airtight.
[8:29] Well, and I don't have any indication and I'm curious to get your legal thoughts on this, Paul.
[8:34] It's not likely that that swing that they take is going to be adjudicated before 20 days from now.
[8:38] So they get credit for taking the swing.
[8:40] Yeah, this will take forever.
[8:43] This could even outlast the Trump administration.
[8:44] I mean, everybody's made great points.
[8:46] I'd love to know when it became a thing.
[8:48] People used to come to this country, kiss the ground and say, thank God I'm here.
[8:50] She comes from a war-torn nation, gets here and says, you know what?
[8:54] This is the worst country in the world.
[8:55] I need to change it into what?
[8:56] What you left?
[8:57] Hello?
[8:58] And that goes to what Lisa is saying, which is they called it a Muslim ban during the 2016 administration.
[9:04] Donald Trump's administration, Donald Trump's administration, wasn't a Muslim ban.
[9:06] It was a ban on nations that don't have a government so we can vet who's coming in.
[9:12] Haiti was among those.
[9:13] That's a Catholic country.
[9:14] That was not it.
[9:15] It's things, it's people coming into the country we have no idea about.
[9:19] Why does that matter here?
[9:20] Because we know nothing about her age.
[9:22] We don't know about her father who was apparently a colonel in some version of their military,
[9:26] which is like a series of warlords.
[9:29] Let me interject for just a second with a follow-up on that, this age situation.
[9:33] If, in fact, she was not a minor, tell me about that.
[9:36] Okay, so apparently the inquiry goes as follows, and you're right over the target with this,
[9:41] and this is why I think there is substance.
[9:43] According to the reporting, the New York Post has become really like the nation's,
[9:46] one of the nation's best journalistic outlets when it digs up this stuff.
[9:49] I'd never heard this, but apparently when she hit Congress,
[9:53] she had her aides reach out, change her birthday.
[9:56] How do you do that? Is that legal?
[9:57] You know what? Apparently you have the juice of a congressman.
[10:00] They didn't change the birth certificate, as I understand it.
[10:02] Okay.
[10:02] Because she hasn't been able to provide her birth certificate
[10:05] because she claims it was destroyed in Somalia.
[10:07] In the war.
[10:07] So, okay, so they went in, they changed the date,
[10:10] so that would make her 17.
[10:12] Why?
[10:12] Because the father, this colonel from the military,
[10:15] is the original person asking for asylum from this war-torn nation.
[10:19] Once he gets it, she comes in as a child.
[10:21] Were she 18, she's hit her majority, she has to apply independently.
[10:26] Therefore, she very well may have been, may have been innocent until proven guilty,
[10:30] may have been fraudulently naturalized.
[10:34] Wherein then she could be denaturalized, and then she can't be in Congress.
[10:40] I would just say this to close the loop.
[10:42] Okay.
[10:42] This is important for investigators here.
[10:44] I want to get this out.
[10:44] There are two different prongs going here now.
[10:46] We have Janine on the finances, and we have this whole thing with the immigration.
[10:50] Is that the way you go?
[10:51] You've got to get somebody over both sides, all right?
[10:54] You can't have, this is what they blew in the Gilgo investigation.
[10:56] Nobody talked to each other.
[10:57] They missed it 12 years ago, and they had enough.
[10:59] You've got to have two different sides here talking to one person
[11:03] and synchronize this whole thing, because it's all one thing.
[11:07] And you've got to get somebody, Janine's getting jurisdiction,
[11:09] venue, they call, in D.C., over the banks.
[11:12] Because it's all going on in Minnesota, but she's in D.C., she banks there.
[11:16] That's probably how she's getting all of this.
[11:17] But you need Minnesota cooperating as well.
[11:20] You've got to get Minneapolis on board, and you've got to get a flip.
[11:23] And that's going to be, in my opinion, whoever changed that date.
[11:27] Ooh.
[11:28] Look at that cliffhanger.
[11:30] That's how you do it Fox Nation style.
[11:31] I've seen you.
[11:33] There you go.
[11:33] When you taste your show.
[11:34] That's right.
[11:35] I rest my case.
[11:35] Dropping of the mic, you say.
[11:36] Hey, everyone.
