‘COWARD’: Virginia prosecutor GRILLED over soft-on-crime policies

[0:00] Oh, excuses. It's all we heard today in Virginia from their leaders when they were hauled before [0:05] Congress to answer for their deadly sanctuary policies. Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney [0:10] Steve Descano now under a DOJ investigation for going easy on illegals. He was defiant before [0:17] the House Judiciary Committee. We're not protecting undocumented individuals. As a matter of fact, [0:24] we prosecute people who commit crimes in Fairfax County regardless of their status. And we, and, [0:29] you know, so the idea that we don't do that is simply wrong. Our policies simply maintain that [0:35] our role is to prosecute Virginia crime. That's what we do. Oh, okay. Well, yeah. Tell that to [0:44] Cheryl Minter, whose daughter Stephanie was stabbed to death at a bus stop. Okay. Allegedly by an illegal [0:49] who had more than 30 priors. Many of those charges, of course, were dropped by his office. [0:55] No mother should have to stand here and say these words. [0:59] No family should have to bury their child like this. Stephanie's life mattered. Today I stand here [1:06] because her life was taken in a way that should have never happened. The man who took my daughter's life [1:12] should not have been free to walk the streets. He had been picked up many times. He was known. There [1:19] were warnings. There were emails sent saying he was a danger. And still he was released. I am not here for [1:26] politics. I am here for accountability. I am here because a system failed my daughter. [1:32] Yeah, when she joined the angle, she said she's not political. That's not why she's doing this. [1:37] She's a mother, grieving mother. By the way, not the only example of [1:41] descano going easy on criminal aliens. Congress and Brad Knott grilled him for dropping charges [1:46] against an illegal accused of trying to kidnap a four-year-old. He yanked a four-year-old girl [1:52] out of her bed with the intent to harm her. And you wanted to give her a cap of two years. [1:59] Sir, this is a great example. And then when the plea agreement was rejected, [2:03] what did you do? Sir, this is a great example. What did you do? [2:07] This is a great example. This is a great example of a case. [2:09] You know, I prosecuted cases. And when you're evading like that, you know what's that's a sign [2:14] of? Guilt. What did you do? You dismissed the case. A disgusting, perverted individual [2:23] preying on children that you dismissed the case. As the father of two young girls, one of them's five. [2:32] That is as shameful as anything I have seen. Please don't talk to me that I don't care about people in my community. [2:38] You clearly don't. You dismissed the case and it's shameful. You're a coward. [2:44] Okay, he's my new favorite congressman. That's how much the Democrats care about our kids. [2:49] They think American lives are, you know, all collateral damage. Lose your life, [2:53] we have to keep the open border, don't we? Gotta protect the criminal legals. Here to react to Jonathan [2:57] Fahey knows this particular prosecutor really well. Former acting ICE directories also ran against [3:03] Discano. All right, Jonathan, you know, this was a disaster hearing for him. Skamburger, the new governor, [3:11] she looks like a complete failure already. Won't cooperate with ICE. Legals are still running free [3:16] in Virginia unless they're picked up by ICE. How did this look tonight for Mr. Discano? [3:21] It was a complete train wreck for him. And I think one of the most striking things when you play Cheryl Minter's [3:28] quote or part of her testimony is how cruel these sanctuary policies and criminal first victim last [3:36] policies because, again, her crime was not just totally, it was completely preventable and it's [3:42] predictable that these types of things will happen with these policies. It was very interesting to [3:48] watch him trying to squirm around his policies and he couldn't really defend it. He said he doesn't [3:54] have the policy that was on his website but really couldn't talk about what it was with illegal aliens. [3:59] But I think the facts show exactly what it is. Illegal aliens get preferential treatment in Fairfax [4:07] County and people die because of it. I think that's inarguable at this point. Yeah, well, Jim Jordan, [4:14] Jonathan, called him out on that policy. Check this out. We're misrepresenting my policies. My policies do not say [4:23] that we do not prosecute people. Well, if you're proud of your policies, why did you change your [4:26] website? Because that's not my policy. As I told you, sir, that is a campaign statement that I made [4:31] before I was Commonwealth. It had been up for six years, a week after we send you a letter saying [4:37] we want you to come testify. Shazam, you change it. Because I could not. Is that coincidental? [4:43] Because I could not believe that somebody, that people were so obtuse that they could not realize [4:48] what the difference between a campaign statement and an actual office policy is. [4:52] Well, Jonathan, so Descano is saying his policy statement on his campaign website. [4:59] That didn't mean anything. It was up there for six years and he really stepped in it here [5:05] because when Harleen Dillon looks into this, she's going to ask current and former prosecutors [5:10] what was the policy with respect to illegal aliens charged with crimes?
