‘Open The F****N’ Strait Or You’ll Be...’: Trump Warns Iran Of Action On Tuesday

[0:00] Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has taken to Truth Social and he's put out an explosive post [0:05] where Donald Trump says that Tuesday will be power plant day and bridge day all wrapped up in one in Iran. [0:11] This is him renewing his 48-hour ultimatum up until Tuesday when his April 6th deadline to clearing up of the Hormuz ends. [0:20] He says there is going to be nothing like it. [0:22] Open the strait or you will be living in hell. [0:25] That is the message that has come in from the U.S. President. [0:27] Once again, reminding Tehran that the clock is ticking on the deadline that he had set of April 6th [0:33] and unless they clear up the strait of Hormuz, unless they open it up to every single ship that passes through, [0:40] there will be hell to pay. [0:41] Those are Donald Trump's words as you see on your screens. [0:45] Aman, my colleague now joins us, getting us more details. [0:47] Aman, that April 6th deadline is very much in line. [1:08] To quote his tweet, Donald Trump is very clearly saying that Tuesday will be power plant day, [1:12] Tuesday will be bridge day, all wrapped into one, [1:15] saying that U.S. will be hitting the energy infrastructure, the road and the bridges infrastructure in Iran on Tuesday [1:22] and launch a big, big strike if the strait of Hormuz is not opened by the deadline of April 6th. [1:29] Which has been fixed by Donald Trump. [1:31] He had tweeted yesterday also that there are only 48 hours to go. [1:34] Iran needs to open the strait of Hormuz. [1:37] He is clearly saying that just watch and there will be hell raising upon Iran. [1:41] This statement, Poonam also coming after the U.S. forces have rescued the second pilot [1:47] who was stranded inside Iran. [1:49] And Donald Trump has also put out the details that later tonight, as per IST, [1:54] around 11.30 p.m., Donald Trump is supposed to hold a mega news conference [1:58] in which he could give out. [1:59] And the details of this, you know, I think a rather remarkable operation [2:03] where the American forces have gone deep inside Iran and managed to rescue safely and soundly [2:09] this U.S. pilot who had been seriously injured after his F-15 was shot down in Iran [2:15] and he had, he was stuck in Iran. [2:17] So, projectively over two days, U.S. has managed to rescue both its pilots alive. [2:22] And I think this is giving Donald Trump even more confidence now to make this rather bombastic claim [2:27] that Tuesday, [2:28] there will be heavy attack on Iran if they don't open the Strait of Hormuz. [2:33] Now, Amanan, Donald Trump is someone who's known to not mince his words. [2:37] But the kind of language that is being used in this particular post, it's downright abusive. [2:41] This, many would call this this rant that Donald Trump seems to be going on. [2:44] Is this confidence or is this desperation? [2:46] Well, Poonam, yes, such kind of profanities being used by a head of state is extremely unprecedented. [2:52] And that is what, you know, Donald Trump is doing right now. [2:55] Obviously, you, nobody can predict what Donald Trump will say or what he's going to say. [2:57] What Donald Trump will say or what he will do next. [3:00] But clearly, it seems like U.S. has had enough. [3:03] The closure of the Strait of Hormuz is deeply hurting the world economy, even the U.S. economy. [3:08] The approval ratings of Trump during this particular war are at its all-time low. [3:13] Mr. Trump is definitely feeling the pressure. [3:15] But I think this rescue of the two American pilots by the U.S. forces is also giving a [3:20] bit of more confidence now to Donald Trump to go to the American people and say, look, [3:24] we don't leave a soldier behind, even if our planes crashed. [3:26] We don't leave a soldier behind, even if our planes crashed. [3:27] We don't leave a soldier behind, even if our planes crashed. [3:28] But I think this is a very significant moment for Iran. [3:29] And I think that, as Iran brought down Iran, we were able to rescue both of our men. [3:31] And this is giving him the next step. [3:33] You know, the trigger to do the next step is to launch a massive strike on Iran, because [3:37] U.S. is now in no mood and Donald Trump clearly is in no mood to let the Strait of Hormuz [3:42] be controlled by Iran or the control of ships being stopped, as Iran has been doing for [3:46] almost a month now. [3:47] Now, as far as Donald Trump is concerned, the kind of threat that he's come out with [3:53] in this particular post, Aman, he talks about how it's going to be power plant day, it's [3:56] going to be bridge day. [3:57] We've already seen one bridge that was blown up, the B1 bridge in Iran, which is extremely crucial for their domestic connectivity. [4:04] But in turn, Tehran had come out and warned of eight other targets or hit lists of sorts that of bridges that would be hit in the Gulf. [4:11] Is Donald Trump willing to take that risk? [4:15] Well, it seems so, Poonam. [4:16] You know, Iran's attacks on the civilian infrastructure in the Gulf countries have also been unrelenting. [4:21] You know, airports have been targeted, foreign offices and offices of corporates, you know, the Dubai, IT city, you know, all these places which are very well-known civilian infrastructure in all the Gulf countries have been attacked by Iran. [4:34] So that is also now in a way giving a free license to the U.S. to not just target the military infrastructure, the nuclear plant infrastructure, but also the civilian connectivity and energy infrastructure inside Iran. [4:45] Because Iran has also been doing that same to the Gulf countries, energy infrastructure in Qatar, energy infrastructure. [4:51] And Bahrain and Kuwait has been targeted by Iran as well. [4:54] So come Tuesday, if the Strait of Hormuz does not reopen as America is wanting right now, it seems unlikely that Iran is going to yield because Iran is also being very, very offensive when it comes to the U.S. [5:06] It seems like we are in for a hot week coming on in this war, almost five weeks since everybody had been anticipating that war will come to an end or some hostilities will cease.
