[0:05] Breaking this morning, multiple outlets are reporting that DHS has raided Congresswoman [0:09] Ilhan Omar's Washington, D.C. House as part of a criminal investigation. Two sources tell Fox [0:15] News Digital that this is related to a criminal fraud investigation into Omar's immigration [0:20] paperwork. The outlet reports that her late father filled out Omar's paperwork when she was a child. [0:26] Omar's team has not yet spoken out on the matter. And now the DOJ told Fox News Digital, quote, [0:30] today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially [0:36] authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an [0:40] ongoing federal investigation, a DOJ spokesperson told Fox News Digital. So we don't know very much [0:47] about this situation at all. So it's hard to offer any comment whatsoever, except noting that it's [0:55] about an immigration matter that pertains to her. And if there is a legitimate basis for them to [1:02] pursue, then it should be pursued. And if it's, I'm sure many Democrats will say it's politically [1:07] motivated. We don't know either way at this point. I am not, I would not rule out the possibility that's [1:15] politically motivated. I also think it's also possible that there's some malfeasance to investigate. [1:20] I don't know. So you're right to begin this with the various things that we do not know. What we do [1:28] know is that Trump has targeted rhetorically Ilhan Omar on numerous occasions, often speaking of her in [1:38] particularly virulent terms. And we also know, relatedly, that Ilhan Omar, having been born in [1:47] Somalia, is part of the picture where Trump has had a propensity to attack Somalians generally, [1:53] describing them as garbage on one occasion. Now, there has been speculation around Ilhan Omar's [2:01] immigration process for some time. She has always denied any wrongdoing. The most frequently cited [2:11] innuendo allegation, whatever, was that she married her brother, which she vehemently denies. [2:19] That doesn't seem to, that charge doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me because the brother of [2:25] someone, it wouldn't be clear why a brother could not immigrate anyway if the family was given a status [2:32] here as her family were. That being said, she has been reluctant to discuss the specifics of some of [2:41] these matters. And I think she has the right to privacy, as anyone does, but it also opens the [2:49] door to further questions being asked about it. Yeah, I don't know. She has the right to privacy, [2:54] sure. Of course, if they've found something wrong, illegitimate. I mean, the scrutiny is over a series [3:02] of events that could absolutely happen. She was married to an individual. They divorced. She married [3:11] this other person who, yes, online rumors have said was her brother, but she says is not, and no one has [3:18] presented evidence of that, but I see that rumor a lot. Then that person she separated from, and she [3:25] went back to her first husband, and then they subsequently divorced as well. And she has children [3:31] with him, and then she's gotten remarried again to Tim Minett. And that's the one who, and there [3:40] were some tax issues they had that she had disclosed. She had not disclosed the right amount of money [3:46] pertaining to something he had ownership of. Yeah, there was, I honestly can't remember the deed. There [3:50] was something about his net worth where there was some level of controversy. I think it was a winery or [3:54] something. Yeah. They were way off, but yes. And he had, he had previously worked either as a consultant [4:01] or a full-time staffer on either in her. Again, so none of that is. Illegal. Indicative of itself, [4:07] right, you can, there is someone, yeah, go back. But I think the, that's where the idea comes from, [4:12] that she was trying to bring, that she separated to get with a new person to bring them into the country, [4:17] and then went back to her when it was satisfied, which again, I would need to see evidence that [4:21] that's the case. Yeah, exactly. I mean, the problem in the charges that are flung at Omar [4:27] is that there's very little evidence presented for any of them. There's a lot of circumstantial, [4:34] well, doesn't it make sense that she would have done X, Y, or Z for this purpose? But there's almost [4:39] no evidence ever presented. And then you have the fact that she is a left-wing Muslim pro-Palestinian [4:51] congresswoman from Minnesota, all of which leaves her a very frequent target of people who I think are [5:01] just pouring innuendo and sometimes outright racism on her. Now, does that mean that, you know, [5:09] is it hypothetically possible that someone who is subject to racism has also committed wrongdoing? [5:16] Obviously, yes. Obviously, both those things are possible. But in her particular case, I think [5:21] it's very difficult to untangle what we know now, which is very little from the overall context of [5:29] extremely vituperative attacks. Well, I'm going to untangle it once it's, I mean, not right now, [5:34] because I don't know. I don't know. There's nothing to untangle because I don't know what she's accused of [5:38] or why they're doing this. I will need to know, you know, when they say, if they're saying she, [5:45] something off about her immigration paperwork. Okay. Does that mean serious lies about how much [5:53] money she has or who she's married to or, you know, important things? Or is it just she didn't [6:02] capitalize her name or whatever? Because I've gone through those forms. I've been over those exact [6:09] forms, government forms in general. I don't like filling out government forms. There's a lot of [6:15] duplicative nonsense in there. So you got to fill them out correctly. So we'll see. I would like to [6:22] know exactly what they mean by not filled out correctly, if that is indeed the charge. [6:26] Yes. And also the fact that she did come here as a child. So as we noted in the introduction, it was [6:32] her father who, as I understand it, filled out the immigration form for his children, including her. [6:39] Now, is there some other alleged malfeasance? Let's see it. I'm just very suspicious, given that [6:46] this administration has frequently attacked people for with no basis. I mean, a very different case, [6:53] of course, but the six Democrats who did the video about unlawful orders. Trump called for [6:58] their imprisonment or execution or something, implied that they had were guilty of treachery. [7:04] It went, didn't even get an indictment of a grand jury. A grand jury looked at that and said no. [7:09] So listen, if DHS or anyone else has evidence against Ilhan Omar, let's see it. But I'm extraordinarily [7:17] skeptical of it. I'm not necessarily skeptical, but I wait to be persuaded by whatever evidence [7:23] emerges. Well, we shall see. Now, it's not totally clear if the execution of the Fort Hood mass shooter [7:30] will really be live-streamed, but the idea is receiving lots of criticism. I'll be adding to [7:35] that next in my notes. Good boy.
