[0:35] Allegedly found with ammo, a loaded pistol, a phone number connected to the White House. [0:39] At his home, investigators say a modified AR-15 style rifle. [0:44] And what authorities have now revealed tonight will go live to Los Angeles. [2:47] The massive fire burning in New York City turning deadly. [2:50] Also, news just in tonight on the alleged suspect arrested at President Trump's golf course in Los Angeles County. [2:56] Tonight, ABC News now confirming he's a Marine veteran. [2:59] Secret Service agents say he was at the golf course twice in the days leading up to the president's arrival. [3:04] The suspect allegedly spotted taking photos and video of Trump National Golf Club appearing to monitor security operations there. [3:12] Authorities now revealing the suspect was found with ammo in his pocket and a loaded 9-millimeter pistol. [3:17] Sources say he also had a phone number connected to the White House. [3:21] At his home, investigators say they found an illegally modified AR-15-style rifle and body armor. [3:27] And tonight here, what else they found at that home? [3:29] ABC's Kena Whitworth leading us off tonight from Los Angeles. [3:32] Tonight, ABC News learning the armed man arrested at Trump National Golf Club outside Los Angeles is a Marine Corps veteran and visited the club twice just days before the president's high-profile visit this week. [3:45] And sources say the suspect had written down a public phone number and address connected to the White House. [3:51] This is an active investigation. [3:53] We're going to go through his digital devices and we're going to go through all of his writings that we've recovered. [3:59] Authorities say they searched the home of 38-year-old Janine John Taley and found an illegally modified AR-style rifle and a pistol along with body armor, radio signal devices and a badge seen here reading agent, fugitive recovery, bail enforcement. [4:15] Agents also recovering multiple notebooks containing what officials described as concerning statements. [4:20] Some of the things they saw was he was taking very detailed surveillance notes of his activities there at the golf course. [4:29] Authorities now say the suspect first visited the golf club last Friday, wearing an earpiece and taking photographs and videos of the federal agent's security planning activities. [4:38] The suspect visiting Trump's golf club again Sunday when officials say he told federal agents he worked for the State Department and was at the course for a security detail, claiming he had a loaded gun in his car. [4:49] Those federal agents calling local law enforcement who took Taley into custody and say they found a 16-round magazine containing hollow-point ammunition in his pocket and a loaded 9-millimeter pistol, binoculars, and another badge that read security protection agent in his car. [5:06] Tonight, that suspect facing federal and state firearm charges as investigators search for a motive. [5:11] And David, ABC News now confirming that suspect served two tours in the Middle East with the Marines. [5:17] And while authorities have not directly linked this suspect to the president, they're calling this more than a coincidence, and sources familiar with these alleged writings call some of them nonsensical. [5:30] Also breaking here in New York City at this hour, a massive explosion and fire turning deadly in the Bronx. [5:36] Multiple firefighters injured as well. [5:38] The fire breaking out in an apartment building, still burning at this hour. [5:41] More than 300 firefighters remain on the scene. [5:44] Let's get right to Aaron Kuturski with the images coming in tonight. [5:46] Aaron. [5:47] David, this fire went to five alarms. [5:49] It did take hundreds of firefighters hours to bring it under control. [5:53] And just a moment ago, the FDNY said that they found one person dead inside the wreckage. [5:59] The fire started just before 1230 in the afternoon at a five-story residential building in the Norwood section of the Bronx, where flames and smoke were seen shooting from the windows. [6:10] People there said they felt a blast. [6:12] The FDNY said there was some sort of explosion that blew window frames clear across the street and apartment doors right off their hinges. [6:20] In addition to the one person that was killed, 14 people sustained injuries, including a half-dozen firefighters. [6:27] And, David, the cause of the fire is under investigation tonight. [6:34] A drone loaded with explosives found near a plane at an airport used by the U.S. and our allies to help Ukraine. [6:41] Tonight, authorities in Germany calling this a serious security-related incident, warning of a potential attack scenario. [6:54] Tonight, a major security scare at a busy German airport, where officials say they discovered a drone packed with explosives near this Ukrainian cargo jet in a potential plot to sabotage the aircraft. [7:05] A bomb squad carefully combing the scene. [7:08] German police now analyzing these images, which they say show a drone fitted with an explosive device and detonator found at the Leipzig airport Tuesday night. [7:17] Authorities immediately closing down all runways, deploying a bomb-disposing robot to disable the drone, which was located in a cargo area separate from the passenger terminal. [7:28] Moments later, police say a DHL cargo plane struck a second unidentified object near that same airport, after reporting its landing amid the security scare. [7:38] The DHL aircraft sustaining minor damage, that incident now also being investigated. [7:42] Leipzig airport is a crucial cargo hub in eastern Germany, used by the U.S. and other NATO allies to supply Ukraine with military equipment. [7:51] American officials say the airport has been the target of multiple suspected Russian sabotage operations. [7:57] At least 18 drone incidents have disrupted air traffic there since January. [8:02] Tonight, German authorities say this incident represents a new threat scenario and involves a high level of technical expertise. [8:10] And, David, tonight, U.S. officials say American intelligence is assisting the investigation, examining components of that drone packed with explosives, [8:19] and calling this a serious and concerning possible escalation linked to Russia's war on Ukraine. [8:28] Meantime, back here in the U.S. in Washington tonight, the FAA is now investigating a safety incident involving President Trump on Marine One. [8:34] Why was there a passenger plane flying so close and in the air over the nation's capital at the same time? [8:40] Here's Gio Benitez. [8:43] Tonight, the FAA and NTSB are investigating why this passenger jet was allowed to take off from Reagan National Airport near D.C. Tuesday, [8:51] moments before President Trump took off from the White House on Marine One when airspace should have been cleared. [8:57] The two aircraft breaching the FAA's minimum safe distance protocol. [9:01] Prior to take off, air traffic control audio capturing Marine One's pilots, giving controllers multiple three-minute warnings, [9:12] which, under standard protocol, would prompt controllers to then pause commercial traffic at Reagan. [9:18] But during Tuesday's departure, controllers appearing not to hear that critical three-minute warning, [9:24] one even mentioning the lack of advance notice. [9:26] You said your proceeding is briefed? [9:29] That's Marine One proceeding as briefed. [9:33] Okay, no three minutes. Roger, proceeding is briefed. [9:35] The two aircraft momentarily coming within 1.5 horizontal miles and 500 vertical feet of each other, [9:42] violating the FAA's safe distance procedures. [9:46] And, David, the FAA says that the two aircraft were never on a collision course and that President Trump was never in danger. [9:52] But, obviously, the fact that a passenger jet took off when the airspace should have been cleared raises very serious concerns here. [10:00] David. [10:01] Gio Benitez with us tonight. [10:09] Well, his new message tonight, responding to new Republican attacks coming already. [10:13] Here's Gio Brian now. [10:14] Tonight, the political earthquake in Michigan. Dr. Abdul Al-Sayed winning the Democratic nomination in the country's most-watched Senate primary. [10:27] A major victory for progressives, but now comes the hard part. [10:30] Today, Al-Sayed setting out to unite Democrats and independents around their shared interests. [10:36] If you believe, like me, that you ought to be able to afford your groceries, if you believe, like me, that you ought to be able to afford your home, [10:43] if you believe, like me, that your tax dollars ought to be invested in you rather than sent somewhere else, [10:49] I hope that you'll join this movement now. [10:53] Al-Sayed's former opponent, Congresswoman Haley Stevens, quick to endorse him, calling him a dedicated Michigander, adding, [10:59] I am proud to offer my support. But his Republican rival, former Congressman Mike Rogers, calls Al-Sayed something else, an extremist. [11:07] This is really about the heart and soul of our country. I have never seen someone so radical, so extreme, get nominated by a political party. [11:17] President Trump on the attack. [11:19] Abdul Al-Sayed, lovely gentleman. He's a man of hate. [11:23] Trump branding Al-Sayed a communist. The candidate is backed by some of the country's leading socialists, but he insists he's a capitalist himself. [11:33] And tonight, he's making it clear he's ready for the attacks, including any aimed at his ethnicity or his Muslim faith. [11:40] They're going to point at me, they're going to point at my name, it's like, well, he's different. That's the best you got. [11:45] You can't actually talk about what you want to do. My name is not raising your gas prices. [11:50] My name is not taking us to war. My name is not the reason you can't afford your groceries. [11:55] You know what it is? They're B.S. policies. [11:59] And, David, tonight, this critical race is already kicking into high gear. [12:02] Abdul Al-Sayed has challenged Mike Rogers to five televised debates tonight. [12:13] We turn now to a horrific road rage incident near San Diego. [12:16] Tonight, the arrest and just moments ago attempted murder charges now after a crash and police say then a violent attack. [12:22] Here's Melissa Adon. [12:23] Tonight, this man with the bloody face facing attempted murder charges after authorities say a car crash on a Southern California off-ramp turned into a violent road rage attack, leaving two people hospitalized. [12:37] Officials say it happened just after 7 Sunday night when this black truck rear-ended a white Chevy Silverado, stopped at a red light off Interstate 5 in Carlsbad, north of San Diego. [12:48] Both drivers exiting their vehicles and coming to blows before the driver of the black truck, identified by police as 49-year-old Orlando Chavez, attacked the 22-year-old woman inside the other car. [13:02] Moments later, Chavez moves to the passenger side, where police say he stabbed the 27-year-old man inside several times. [13:09] At that moment, I realized, like, we have to do something about this. [13:14] The white truck finally able to get away when a bystander blocked the intersection with his car. [13:19] Officers coming to the couple's aid just blocks away from the scene. [13:23] There was a person on scene over here. [13:24] I gave them my shirt. [13:25] They put the shirt over the wound. [13:27] David, that driver just faced a judge where he pleaded not guilty and he was denied bail. [13:33] Now, prosecutors say the person that was stabbed is still in the ICU, and it's a miracle they survived that brutal attack. [13:41] David? [13:42] Just an awful story, Melissa. [13:43] Thank you. [13:44] Tonight, a frightening scene in Orange County, California, an out-of-control Tesla crashing through a wall and right into multiple homes. [13:51] Here's Trevor Ault. [13:51] Tonight, a trail of destruction in a Southern California neighborhood after police say an out-of-control Tesla crashed through a brick-retaining wall and into homes. [14:01] He had to be going at least in the Tesla. [14:04] You know, they're quick. [14:04] He must have been going 100 miles an hour. [14:07] Investigators say the 22-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency and lost control, a car careening some 20 feet down that embankment, [14:15] slamming into multiple homes and crashing through this garage door. [14:18] This is what it looked like from the inside, debris-shattering windows, and on one home, there were tire marks spotted 10 feet up. [14:26] It happened just after midnight in Orange County, California, near Los Angeles. [14:30] Authorities say first responders had to pull the driver from the car, but he was not seriously hurt from the crash. [14:36] And while many people were in the homes at the time, none of them were injured. [14:41] David, it's not clear what that medical emergency was, but investigators say they don't believe the driver was impaired, [14:46] and this was not the result of Tesla's autopilot mode. [14:54] Tonight, the home explosion turning deadly in southern Illinois, at least one dead. [14:58] The entire neighborhood rocked by the blast. [15:00] And here's Morgan Norwood. [15:03] Tonight, authorities in southern Illinois investigating this deadly home explosion. [15:08] The blast rocked an entire neighborhood in the town of Energy, Illinois, just after 7 p.m. [15:14] It shook literally, like, you can see the windows broke right here. [15:27] The windows on the back of the house broke. [15:29] You can see up here, it damaged up there, all right here, bro. [15:33] It shook the old car, debris. [15:35] I think it saw debris front flying everywhere. [15:37] First responders racing to the scene, flames erupting from an open gas line as they combed through the wreckage, [15:43] finding one person dead, and multiple other buildings in the neighborhood damaged. [15:47] And David, investigators with the sheriff's office and Illinois State Fire Marshal are working to determine what sparked this blast. [15:54] David. [15:55] Morgan Norwood reporting for us. [16:05] Now at least a dozen states hit. [16:06] And tonight, sources telling ABC News it appears Iran may have been laying the groundwork for attacks like these well before the war started. [16:13] An intelligence note reviewed by ABC News indicates there were nearly 500 attempted intrusions in a 46-minute window back on November 24th, months before the war started. [16:23] Authorities maintain there's no evidence public drinking water supplies anywhere in the country have been placed at risk. [16:28] We'll, of course, stay on this.
