By accessing or using ScribeHawk ("the Service"), operated at scribehawk.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
ScribeHawk is an AI-powered transcription platform. The Service allows you to transcribe audio and video from URLs or uploaded files, generate captions for video, translate transcripts, monitor podcast feeds and keyword mentions, and search transcripts of public government meetings via the Civic Layer. The Service uses speech-to-text and large language models to generate output, which may contain errors.
To use most features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password, or by signing in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use the Service. One account per person; you may not share account credentials.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:
You retain ownership of any audio, video, URLs, or text you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant ScribeHawk a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to download, process, store, transcribe, translate, caption, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
If you create a public share link or publish a transcript publicly, you additionally grant us a license to host and display that content publicly until you remove it.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit any content you provide and to authorize the processing described in these Terms.
The Service uses speech-to-text and large language models to produce transcripts, translations, formatted text, and captions. Output may contain errors, mistranscriptions, mistranslations, or omissions. You acknowledge that:
The Service offers free and paid tiers (currently Free, Basic, Pro, Monitor, and Pro Monitor) with different features and quotas. Current pricing and quotas are listed at scribehawk.com/#pricing. We reserve the right to modify tier features, quotas, and pricing with reasonable notice, which may be delivered via the Service or email.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance via Stripe and renew automatically on a monthly basis until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe billing portal linked from your Account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months unless required by law.
If a payment fails, your account may be downgraded to the Free tier until payment is restored. We reserve the right to suspend access for chronic non-payment or chargeback abuse.
The Civic Layer provides transcripts of public government meetings sourced from official Granicus and YouTube feeds operated by the relevant jurisdictions. Civic transcripts are provided for informational and journalistic purposes and may contain transcription errors. ScribeHawk is not affiliated with any government body, and inclusion of a jurisdiction does not imply endorsement by, or partnership with, that jurisdiction.
The Caption Video feature uploads your video to our private GPU server, burns captions in, and returns the captioned video and an SRT file. Source video files are deleted from the GPU server immediately after burn-in completes. Caption job output is automatically purged from the GPU server 24 hours after creation. You can also delete caption jobs manually at any time from your dashboard.
If you enable keyword monitoring, the Service will scan newly transcribed content (including auto-monitored political programs and your own podcast subscriptions where applicable) and send you alerts via email and, if linked, Telegram. Alerts are rate-limited (currently a maximum of 5 alert emails per user per hour) to prevent abuse. We do not guarantee delivery, latency, or completeness of alerts.
If you link your Telegram account, you agree that messages you send to ScribeHawk through Telegram (including transcription commands and chat replies) will be processed by the Service. You can unlink your Telegram account from your Account settings at any time.
The Service relies on third-party providers (including Stripe for payments, Resend for email delivery, Google for optional sign-in, and Telegram for optional alerts). Your use of those providers is subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or policy changes affecting third-party providers.
The Service, its design, features, source code, infrastructure, the Civic Layer database, and the ScribeHawk name and logo are the intellectual property of ScribeHawk. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service. Transcripts and other output you generate are yours to use, subject to any underlying rights held by the original copyright holder of the source material.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, attempt to defraud our billing system, or use the Service in a manner that could harm other users or the Service itself. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of suspension or termination where practical.
You may delete your account at any time through your Account settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your private transcripts, caption jobs, podcast feeds, keyword alerts, Telegram link, and chat history.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific transcription, translation, caption, or alert will be accurate or timely.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScribeHawk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to ScribeHawk in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScribeHawk and its operators from any claims, damages, or costs arising out of (a) content you submit to the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right (including copyright and privacy rights) in connection with your use of the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
