good evening and welcome the wednesday march 27th 2024 city of plantation cr meeting cra meeting is now called to order at 601. oh there she is miss beggaro please call the roll commissioner anderson here commissioner andrew here commissioner fadgen here commissioner horland here commissioner reinstein here commissioner sortle here city attorney ezra here thank you thank you the consent agenda consists of items one through four and may be approved with one motion does any member of the commission wish to pull an item i have from the public items one and three can i have a motion motion approve items two and four second miss beggaro please call the roll commissioner anderson yes commissioner andrew yes commissioner fadgen yes commissioner horland yes commissioner reinstein yes commissioner sortle yes thank you okay mr conklin item number one good evening dennis conklin 4581 northwest six court um i pulled this item because i think it's important anytime we have our consolidated annual financial reports uh long ago the cra was included in it for the whole city and it wasn't broken out now it is so it's it's here in item number one and um one of the important things about the cra it was uh basically established in 2000 it's for 30 years and uh each year there's a tax increment fund and uh any appreciation and property values uh the taxes for that year stay within the district and the report was that it was uh three million eight hundred thirteen thousand five hundred five hundred twenty seven dollars this year as a 2023 report and um there's been a issue that i've had with the caffers usually and it has to do with the money just keeps building up within the city totally and within the caffer i noticed that um it's a 13 million uh 558 dollars uh 558 000 525 and um what what it means to me is that the uh focus hasn't been on the gateway seven uh formerly gateway seven and now the the cra of which uh the mayor and the city council are commissioners so there should be commissioner uh name tags up there right now and that's that's basically uh what i had for this uh item one if everybody can uh go online and pull that uh it's a nice pdf file short compared to the cities which is coming up but um i i think we're moving along very well now with the new cra director because in the past it was like the um what would you say red-haired freckled orphan child sort of uh speak and uh there's a lot of attention going on to that now but there's still such a bunch of money there that we've only got six years left from 20 uh 2000 to 2030 so we really have to get on the ball to get that going and i wish that there was uh enough space for ali's someplace within plantation but it is a huge place but it's a really good place i yield back thank you um i don't have anybody submitted anything for the cra is there anybody in the chamber would like to make a comment on item number one in the cra see a non-conniable motion motion to approve second miss beguro please call the roll commissioner anderson yes commissioner andrew yes commissioner pageant yes commissioner horland yes commissioner reinstein yes commissioner sortle yes thank you thank you um mr conklin number three thank you uh number three i had questions on uh week one week two and week three reports um on week one there was a 112 740 uh expense capital improvements fdot and i was curious what what the heck could that be in in the uh cra district because it almost sounds like half of a bridge project you know and i was curious about that in week two there was uh two thousand seven hundred ninety one dollars 63 recreational equipment machinery and i see that they're doing stuff at sir kingsley uh smith park is that what that's for the the trailhead park on the c12 canal is for the sir kingsley smith park and item number three week number three there was uh three thousand fourteen dollars universal engineering science consultants and i wasn't sure what that was about and uh agenda i think there's going to be something about having a college do some sort of study or report so i was just curious about those three items week one week two and week three and i hope week two is for the uh sir kingsley smith park um i don't know anna is the 112 000 for the crosswalks good evening anna otaniano finance director yes i believe that's the pavers at 441 uh it was an agreement that came to council the item
