Well, welcome. I know it's a small, small group and this would probably be a short meeting, but welcome to the leadership meeting that I'm holding with Council Member Gay and Council Member Gay. I appreciate you coming today. I appreciate your confidence, your support. And I also wanted to say, before I turn it over to you for any comments you may want to make, I just want to say it means more to me to have your support for Vice President because of the way you've conducted yourself for the last almost three years. You've been steady, consistent, not emotional, logical. You've taken in all the input from your district and made the best decisions you could make for your district. And I think with only that in mind, not what anybody else wanted you to do or say or vote, how they wanted you to vote, you have consistently shown me and the rest of our colleagues what it's like when you have the right focus. So I just wanted you to know, I appreciate you beyond the support. In fact, more importantly, that's what I most appreciate about you. So it means even more to me that you would come today and say you want to pledge your support for me as Vice President. So thank you very much. Thank you, Councilman Miller. I appreciate your kind words there and realizing that a lot of my votes are always based on the people, whether it's my district or any district. I always listen to all the options and the complaints and the pros, what's good and what's bad, and from finances to what's the best for the city for our return on investment to make sure that what we do is effective spending. And that's my whole drive is the people and effective spending. And I see that you have definitely focused on effective spending, and that's one of my main, I guess, boxes to check off for, Vice President, leadership. And listening to the people and listening to the people and making sure that we're making good, wise decisions for the people and their city dollars, tax dollars. So, you know, I appreciate that leadership quality in you, and that that's, you know, I feel privileged and honored to sign your pledge today and hope for the best. And no matter what, like I've always said, I may not support something on votes, but I always want the best and try to make the best in everything. So whether you are successful at this or not successful, I still, you know, want the best for our city and the council. And I think you will be a great leader, but I think you'll also be great as a continuing council member for the future, whether you're elected to this position or not. And that's what I also look at is how you would conduct yourself if you didn't get Vice President. And I feel like you want the best, and that's no matter what position you're in, you'll serve it at your best ability. So with that, hope the best for you in this scenario. Thank you, sir. Thank you. Thank you very much. I appreciate that, Councilman. Okay, I will say based on some of the comments you made, I know you not only look at your district and how our votes will affect your district, but you also look at how it affects the rest of the city as well. And I appreciate that about you also. And I was reading something this morning that actually was from Tim Tebow, one of his posts, talking about the importance of forming solid relationships and the importance of the trust that you have in your colleagues in any type of relationship, really, and how important that is and your ability to work together and can you count on someone and things like, you know, do people show up because they care about you and care about what is important to you or do they show up because they think, you know, they have to or they need to. I try and I've taken seriously representing the whole city and I try to get everywhere I can and if council members like yourself, district council members say you want me somewhere, I believe there's a reason for that. So I will do everything I can to be there and that's what I've tried to do during the campaign and since I've been elected and I think that will help serve me well. And if I'm elected as vice president, because I see my role, if elected to vice president, as the person who should be working with everybody, not only to help the president be able to meet his or her goals and vision for the next year, but our whole council as a whole. I see the vice president's role is trying to bring everybody together, Republicans, Democrats, the administration, let's find ways forward to get good things done for the people and try to do it in a fiscally responsible manner. And I think that speaks to a couple of comments that you just made that are important to you. And if I'm blessed to be able to be vice president this upcoming year, that's what my focus will be. It's not about Chris Miller. It's not about what I can get out of this. It's about our body as a whole, working together and just like a good team on a company, in a company, you have to all be working together. Everybody does their part and you know that you can trust your teammates. I want to try to help foster that kind of environment and those type of relationships and then move us forward. And we've got a lot of fiscal matters, serious fiscal matters that need good, solid decisions. I believe you're one of those guys because you've been a successful businessman and you are a successful businessman. You don't need to be doing this. You don't have to be in a position or you don't have to achieve any other goals for positions of leadership, but you've chosen to do this, just like I've chosen to do this. And I think that's part of the definition of a true public servant. And so, again, I appreciate you and the support is important. But more importantly, I appreciate you being willing to go through all the things that we go through. And many of them are good, but some of them are a little challenging. But you've willingly decided to do that and you've willingly decided to run for re-election to continue to serve our city. And so I appreciate your servant's heart. And I know, I know it's not about you as well. It's about our city. It's about the people who elected us to serve them. So thank you again very much. I appreciate you. And I look forward to an amazing year, regardless of the outcome of this election. I am committed to working with you and our colleagues in making this the best year we've had.
