Republican FREAKS, RUNS AWAY when asked PERFECT QUESTION — Another Day

[0:00] Republican candidates run away from the press for, as FDR once said, the only thing to fear is [0:06] a question from a journalist. This is just another day. [0:10] With the midterms fast approaching, campaigns all around the country are increasingly being [0:17] put under the microscope. And some of those campaigns would prefer that you not look too [0:21] closely. This morning, the national spotlight is on Georgia's U.S. Senate race and it's growing. [0:26] That's right. Congressman Mike Collins is facing some tough questions about his son-in-law's [0:30] online posts. You know, we've fully addressed that. Do you address his question, please, sir? [0:35] But John Ossoff refuses to disavow these Democrat socialist movements in our country. [0:41] You don't want to talk about your son-in-law at all? Do you embrace him in the family? [0:46] Share his views? Q&A portion of that news conference was less than three minutes. [0:53] Less than three minutes? It probably took them twice that long to just set up the podium. [0:57] Why even bother having a press conference if you don't want to talk to the press? [1:02] But what's the big deal anyway? So Mike Collins' son-in-law made a few embarrassing posts online. [1:07] Who hasn't? Hell, this used to be my online dating profile. But hey, in fairness, I'm sure whatever [1:13] his son-in-law did isn't as bad as it seems. [1:16] Collins' son-in-law posted white nationalist and anti-Semitic material online. [1:21] And there's new reporting about him from CNN's K-File, reporting highlighting Collins' close [1:26] ties with yet another far-right figure, his son-in-law, David Allen Scheer II. [1:31] Scheer is a white nationalist. He's a social media influencer. He shares anti-Semitic material, [1:35] Nazi imagery, and more. [1:37] Uh, hey man, you had me at Nazi imagery. You don't have to add and more. [1:43] That's like someone saying that Harvey Weinstein abused and raped multiple women [1:46] and a bunch of other bad stuff too. But since we're here, what specifically is the more? [1:53] They don't tell us the history about Germany before World War II. All we're told is Germany bad, [1:57] Hitler evil, don't ask questions. Holocaust, Holocaust, Holocaust. Here's 50 movies every [2:02] year about the Holocaust and why it's so bad. [2:04] Yeah, where are all the movies about how the Holocaust wasn't so bad? I mean, [2:09] why can't Tarantino make a version of Inglourious Bastards where, instead of hunting down Nazis, [2:14] those guys simply join them for a couple of beers? Now, I don't think that the actions of family [2:20] members automatically implicate people running for or serving in office. I also don't think that the [2:25] party who spent 10 years talking about Hunter Biden's laptop deserves any grace here. But putting [2:31] all of that aside, as far as disavowals go, this feels like a pretty easy one. I'm sure that Mike [2:36] Collins' staff said something to the effect of, we completely despise this hateful rhetoric and [2:41] this person in no way is affiliated with our campaign. Let's hear it. [2:45] We asked the spokesman for Collins for comment. They said, quote, Congressman Collins' lifelong [2:52] support for Israel is unquestionable and backed by his consistent record in Congress of standing up [2:56] for Israel and her people. Okay, so not really addressing the issue at all then. That's like [3:03] asking someone why they haven't released all the Epstein files and then responding with, [3:07] The Dow is over 50,000 right now. They call that move the Bondi. But as it turns out, [3:14] the ignoring of questions isn't merely limited to Georgia's Senate race these days. Yes, along with [3:20] transphobia and giving tax breaks to billionaires, ignoring the press is the new hot trend among [3:25] Republicans. I wanted to give you a chance to respond to State Representative Tallarico and his [3:31] campaign. They've made a lot about the reports that have come out, one in the New York Times about you [3:38] acquiring properties worth noting. Yeah, can we keep this to law enforcement today? Well, I'm giving you the [3:43] opportunity to answer that question. I'd like to, we're here with the sheriffs, I'd like to keep today [3:48] to law enforcement. So that's when I'm going to answer questions about law enforcement. Okay. You know, that's pretty [3:54] damn rude of these journalists. I mean, where would they even get the idea that Paxton would want to [3:59] discuss anything related to his opponent, James Tallarico? For God's sake, this press conference [4:05] is about Paxton and Paxton only. But despite how pesky these reporters can be, you know that an [4:11] attorney general from Texas, especially one looking to join the ranks of the U.S. Senate, ain't backing [4:16] down from a few tough questions. Gromer, did you want to go? Will you answer a question about why you voted in [4:24] Collin County? Clear that up. So we're just going to do questions on law enforcement today because we're joined with [4:29] 22 amazing law enforcement officers. I have a question. We're going to get out of here. Thank you guys. I have a [4:34] question. Yeah, we're going to get out of here. Thank you. Can we not have more than one person answer a question? [4:41] Well, that wasn't awkward at all. You know, it's pretty hard for a candidate to claim that he'll fight for you [4:47] when his go-to move is walking away. And how about him just leaving all those cowboys there? [4:53] They look like a bunch of men at a gangbang who just found out the woman had to cancel. [4:58] So anyone else hungry? But whatever. That's just the typical liberal media trying to spread lies [5:04] with their fake news. When Paxton's with the people, they know where he stands. [5:09] So what are the differences between me and my opponent? I'm sure you know some of them. One of them is family. [5:15] Actually, let me talk about faith first. Faith. [5:19] Holy shit. Now Ken Paxton is running away from Ken Paxton. I guess when you've been involved in [5:25] multiple cheating scandals, it's probably best to put the topic of family on the back burner. [5:30] But this is where it helps that Paxton is a Trump-backed right-wing darling. Because when [5:35] you've got the relentless 24-hour media machine behind you, you've got nothing to worry about. [5:40] And one of the problems that Paxton has is his character. He's got where his money came from, [5:45] his personal problems. His divorce is very public. It's going to be on trial soon. Fox News did the [5:49] same poll. And they said, are you extremely or very concerned that Paxton lacks character? 59% say yes. [5:57] Ooh, you know it is bad when Fox News is acknowledging what a shitty candidate you are. [6:02] That's like Cash Patel saying that you've got a drinking problem. But as luck would have it, [6:07] Mike Collins and Ken Paxton aren't the only candidates this fall with a little bit of baggage. [6:11] Turning now to the shocking allegations against Ohio Republican Congressman Max Miller. [6:17] He's accused of committing acts of domestic violence against his ex-wife and their young daughter. [6:23] Do you think that Max Miller, who denies this abuse, should he resign from Congress in light of the [6:30] accusations? Look, this is a family matter. I know Max is a good man. I was up campaigning for him. [6:37] I hope he wins re-election. He's done a good job as a member of Congress. [6:41] And we should all pray for his family. These are difficult times that they're going through. [6:44] We understand that. These kind of situations always are. [6:47] I'm sorry, these kinds of situations? I'd say most families aren't dealing with [6:53] these kinds of situations. [6:55] The allegations include that Miller scalded his ex-wife's chest and stomach when he threw hot [7:00] water at her, that he held a gun to her head, that he pushed her against a wall and hit her in [7:04] the head, that he fractured their daughter's collarbone and bruised her shoulder, that his two-year-old [7:09] daughter reportedly told his ex-wife, quote, Daddy, kill you. [7:13] Hey, come on. That's not fair. The two-year-old could have learned the phrase Daddy, kill you [7:17] from anywhere, probably from her favorite book, The Very Angry and Vengeful Caterpillar. [7:22] Yes, not only are Republicans willing to stand by their own party's candidates, regardless of the [7:26] severity of the accusations, but they've got their back even when their own family is involved. [7:32] And in the Senate, Senator Bernie Moreno has retained a calculated sort of silence regarding [7:39] these allegations involving his own daughter. When you say calculated silence, what has the [7:45] Senator Moreno, again, the father of the alleged victim in this matter, his daughter married, [7:52] who used to be married, ex-wife of Max Miller, what is he saying or not saying? [7:58] He hasn't spoken about it in months at this point. [8:00] Not a great sign for your party when you are worried that speaking ill of your daughter's [8:04] abusive ex-husband might not play well with the base. The reality is, if the intent of a [8:10] political campaign is to illustrate how you would handle tough situations better than your opponent, [8:14] I'd say these folks are failing miserably. This is the job interview. In no other profession, [8:20] when asked about your resume, is it okay for you to get up, walk away, and still demand that you [8:25] are right for the job? But is it any surprise that these men won't denounce hateful rhetoric or [8:30] condemn those against women when that is the definition of a winning platform these days? [8:34] The fish rots from the head, and Donald Trump's ascension in this party has given a permission [8:39] structure to every candidate that comes after him that it's okay to act like a piece of shit and [8:44] you'll never have to face an ounce of accountability. But as long as the GOP keeps allowing scandal-plagued [8:50] candidates to run, the questions and the demand for accountability will not stop, because when [8:54] our tax dollars pay their salary, Americans deserve answers. So apologies if these press conferences [9:00] are slightly stressful, but as one man said, these kind of situations always are. They sure are. [9:06] Before you go, one quick request.
