President Trump delivers remarks on the U.S. economy in Pennsylvania — 12/9/2025

[0:01] three and a scene nice crowd you got a lot of people you've got a lot of people standing [2:39] outside tonight it's freezing they got here yesterday like at two o'clock in the morning [2:44] or something well i'm worried about them would anybody like to give up your place let some [2:51] people come in from the cold you go out to the cold i don't think so i just want to say hello [2:57] pennsylvania and i'm thrilled to be back in this incredible commonwealth with so many proud [3:05] hard-working american patriots that's what you are so am i i'm a proud hard worker i'm a proud [3:12] patriot but you're a proud patriot thank you very much everybody's a great reception you know we're [3:17] on to uh we're on to expose what happened recently when we took over you know it's 10 months and [3:25] already we have the largest investment ever made in the history of not our country of any country [3:32] anywhere in the world think of that but let me begin by [3:39] wishing each and every one of you a very merry christmas happy new year all of that stuff [3:46] remember when i started in 2015 i made my first speech and i said we're going to bring back [3:52] christmas remember they wanted to the radical left wanted to get word of them they wanted to [3:58] get rid of the word christmas they said i don't think that's going to work out and we did it and [4:03] now everybody's saying merry christmas again but just over one year ago today with your help we [4:13] saved america [4:15] that's what happened we saved in the most important election victory possibly in the [4:22] history of our country our country was going down we were a country that was being scoffed at laughed [4:28] at all over the world we won all seven thank you charlie she said and you saved us who are you [4:39] stand up please who said that of her uh only in pennsylvania can this happen i know this state [5:02] by the way last election did we kick ass [5:10] we won that means we won three times in a row as you know but we won all seven swing states [5:19] we won the electoral college 312 to 226 we won and by the way the real vote was much more than this [5:26] but we wanted to make it too big to rig we won the popular vote for the first time of any republican [5:36] in many decades and we won 86 percent of all counties in america two thousand seven hundred to [5:44] five hundred and twenty five that's good we did it not me we did it and now after just 10 months in [5:53] office i'm pleased to report that america is winning again pennsylvania is prospering again [5:59] and i will not rest until this commonwealth is wealthier and stronger than ever before [6:06] remember when biden got up and called you a state that was not good [6:15] he said it's great to be back in this state where are we where are we what state what state is it [6:22] it's pennsylvania oh oh okay now we're respected again as a country we're respected since my [6:33] inauguration we've created nearly 60 000 new pennsylvania jobs including 4 000 pennsylvania [6:41] manufacturing jobs that the democrats gave up on you're doing better than you've ever done under [6:47] our leadership more than 40 000 pennsylvanias have been lifted off of food stamps 40 000. [6:55] and working with a great guy remember david mccormick he used to go to every every rally [7:06] hat he knew what was happening and he's here again as usual i can't get rid of this guy where is he [7:14] he got a little lucky though you know in butler place called butler pennsylvania i love butler [7:19] pennsylvania but it's amazing and we had a tremendous crowd like 55 60 000 people then [7:26] i called david i said david come on up he was working like hell to get like it was a tough [7:31] place and very few people could have done what he did but i said right at the beginning of the [7:37] speech i said david come on up come on up i want to this was before the thing happened and uh then [7:44] i look up i said you know what david just stay there i'll get you later you're so lucky david [7:50] you're so lucky you don't know i could have had a little differently shaped ear if it weren't for [7:57] you you know just you got very lucky that day people don't talk about that but i remember i [8:03] and i said just stay there because he was walking a little bit slowly i didn't want to take the time [8:09] oh boy that was a good day for you what a job he did he's really a great guy and his wife [8:14] dina is fantastic thank you stand up baby he's a lucky man working with senator david mccormick [8:27] we've secured commitments for nearly 100 billion dollars of investments in pennsylvania we were up [8:33] here a few months ago some of the greatest energy companies in the world made that we would [8:40] be doing it on a beautiful day a little warmer than it is outside today david but uh over a [8:47] hundred billion dollars and we've saved a great american company you know we saved this little [8:53] group of people and me saved a little company called u.s steel and it's hot as a pistol now [9:04] and we have the keys to the company it's always going to be here it's never moving they said what [9:08] happens if it moves to japan they said you can't move a steel mill to japan you can move a headquaters [9:15] the steel mill stays here that's all that matters and i will tell you the the company is spending [9:20] billions and billions of dollars and there was no second by comparison other companies were [9:25] interested but and they really are they call me all the time tell me they're really excited about [9:30] it and you know they're building a lot of additional plants it's turning out to be beyond [9:36] what anyone thought possible but we had to save u.s steel u.s steel was one of the greatest [9:41] companies which really for a long period of time years ago the greatest steel company in the world [9:45] the greatest company anywhere in the world u.s deal with you see it with the big factories that were [9:51] i mean two years ago now it's starting to fill up the tariffs have filled it up because people [9:56] are coming here other steel companies are coming to pennsylvania now because they don't want to [10:00] spend a hundred percent fifty percent twenty five percent of tariffs are all coming in it's amazing [10:08] you know they the word remember when i said tariff my favorite word is tariff true but then [10:16] i got a lot of heat from the fake news look at all of them back there i took a lot of heat i got [10:26] up early on i said my favorite is turning out you know tariffs are bringing us hundreds of billions [10:31] of dollars i just helped our farmers out because they're starting to do really well but in order to [10:39] try and negotiate some countries played a little cute and we just gave them right out of a tariff [10:46] money of course there's nothing right out of the billion hundreds of billions that we've taken in [10:52] we gave the farmers a little help 12 billion dollars and they are so happy and they all they [10:58] want is a level playing field and now it's happening and the tariffs are making them rich [11:04] it's going to be you're going to see you're going to see what happens over the next two years [11:08] it's like a miracle is taking place but we've taken in hundreds of billions of dollars really [11:14] trillions scott we have the great scott bassett scott stand up and if you add to that all of the [11:26] that are pouring their money to building right now building plants in pennsylvania and many other [11:30] states auto plants ai plants plants of every type which we would have never had if we didn't put the [11:38] tariffs on did you see where europe now is saying i think we got to start doing what trump is doing [11:43] we've got to stop putting on tariffs because we're getting our asses kicked and it's true [11:47] but scott if you really think about it it's trillions of dollars not billions of dollars right [11:53] so it's amazing it's uh the smart people understand it [11:56] other people are starting to learn but uh the smart people really understand it one year ago [12:01] under sleepy joe biden have you heard of him you know okay look the king of saudi arabia told me [12:17] this he said sir one year ago i was in saudi arabia somebody complained that i was making [12:25] a foreign trip i went to saudi arabia qatar and uae i brought back four trillion dollars they said [12:35] he should focus on home what the hell do you think i'm doing and 250 boeing jets i brought it back so [12:43] much everything then they say he should you know the stupid people they say he should be living [12:48] our country yeah let's sit around and twiddle our thumbs it's uh no it's sort of crazy right [12:55] but one year ago the king of saudi arabia said it he said sir one year ago you were a dead country [13:01] dead they were focusing on china they were looking for you know who's next on line frankly and [13:07] good man and the the emir of qatar said it the uae said it the big company the big smart country [13:16] said it we were a dead country one year ago we were dead as a doornail we were going down the [13:22] tubes and now with the hottest country anywhere in the world there's nobody close and it's because [13:43] of the election on november 5th because that's when it started you see what's happening with [13:47] recruitment in the military the enrollment is the highest we've ever had [13:52] and you know right before november 5th we couldn't get anybody in the military we couldn't get [13:57] police we couldn't get firemen we couldn't get anybody and after november 5th that's when it [14:02] started right now we have the highest enrollment we've ever had the greatest recruitment days [14:08] we've ever had in the military it's amazing so it's november 5th and it's also again it's a thing [14:16] called tariffs and i told you i was about to say that you know because i love the weave the weave [14:24] being being being you always have to get back to the right location but otherwise they'll criticize [14:31] you for straying from the speech if i if by the way if i read for it's on the teleprompter you'd [14:38] all be falling asleep right now but it's true one year ago and during periods of time i'd say [14:46] my favorite word is the word tariff i love it more than any other word in the dictionary here this is pretty good [16:41] and that's what we did and we're right now drilling more oil than we've ever done ever [16:47] before prices are way down we just had four states it was just reported that four states had one [16:53] dollar and 99 cents a gallon we're saw moving so i want to uh just i want to introduce chris wright [17:06] stand up chris who would think you look at him he's a nice looking guy and all that who would [17:17] think he's a nice looking guy i mean he's the most talented oil guy he can put his nose on the ground [17:22] and tell you whether or not there's oil other people have to spend billions of dollars on [17:26] machinery and equipment and it doesn't work so i want to thank you you're doing a great job [17:31] and is it true we are right now energy overall not only the oil and gas we are right now involved in [17:39] more energy and have more energy in the works by far than we've ever had before is that right yeah [17:46] not even close [17:52] no higher priority than making america affordable again that's what we're going to do and again [17:58] they cause the high prices and we're bringing them down it's a simple message [18:03] if i had one crushing it and you're getting [20:29] much higher wages i mean the only thing that you it's really going up big it's called the stock [20:34] market and your 401ks it's going on but i i say it you know and i said it the other day and a lot [20:44] of people misinterpreted they said oh he doesn't realize prices are high prices are coming down [20:48] very substantially but they have a new word you know they always have a hoax the new word is [20:55] affordability so they look at the camera and they say this election is all about affordability [21:05] now they never talk about it they never talk thank you very much they say i'm not allowed to [21:10] run i don't know what the hell that's all about but that's okay he said four more years you see [21:16] the new hat we have four more years 20 28 we've also said we have three years and two months to [21:39] go and you know what that is in trump time [21:43] we have a long time we have a long time but under biden real wages plummeted by three thousand [21:55] dollars a year under trump the typical factory worker has already seen their wages increase by [22:02] more than thirteen hundred dollars and that's in just a few months and for construction workers it's [22:09] one thousand eight hundred dollars up versus three thousand five hundred dollars down and i think [22:15] their number is wrong it's much lower than that for miners do we love miners i love miners [22:21] i don't know how they do it going ten thousand feet under the ground and they wouldn't trade jobs [22:27] with me if i gave them a beautiful magnificent penthouse in the middle of manhattan where i used [22:34] to live if i gave them the most beautiful penthouse they wouldn't take it they'd rather [22:39] go ten thousand feet underground and dig that's what they want for miners their wages went up [22:47] to three hundred dollars and we're bringing back cold but my administration cannot talk about [22:54] anything else except when they say the word call they have to proceed the word by two words clean [23:02] beautiful so we only call cold clean beautiful coal is that right fellas because coal needs a [23:09] little public relations help it's a very powerful it's a very powerful fuel it's used by china you [23:17] know china makes all our [23:19] you know china makes all our [23:19] windmills but they don't have any wind farms preaching about public [24:21] safety and they are really the truly the enemy of the working class when they do it because we want [24:29] to have we're going to have a great energy policy you know our oil prices are coming down very [24:33] substantial energy prices and honestly with that everything comes down because there's nothing [24:40] nearly in the category of oil you wouldn't even know what second is there are seconds and thirds [24:45] but it's so far down the list we don't even talk about them you get energy prices down which we're [24:50] doing with and again the greatest [24:53] amount of drilling the greatest amount of fuel being produced right now in our country than ever [24:58] before by far it's not even a contest and when that happens those prices come down that's why [25:04] you're seeing oil per barrel coming down nicely very nicely we don't want to go so rapidly because [25:10] we want the people that produce it to keep producing it but they're doing good but it's [25:15] amazing but when energy comes down your other prices come down to all of your prices and that's [25:20] exactly we inherited the highest prices ever [25:24] and we're bringing them down we inherited the worst inflation in the history of our country [25:29] think of that and we're bringing them down rapidly their entire agenda is about robbing working people [25:34] to fund their far-left cronies and give lavish benefits to foreign migrants and illegal aliens [25:40] you can't do it look we all have a heart we don't like what's happening but you know when they allow [25:45] [35:03] They were able to keep her alive long enough for her parents to come in from West Virginia and say goodbye to her. [35:09] And Andrew is the second one who's also from West Virginia National Guard. [35:16] Incredible people. [35:18] And so they were both from West Virginia. [35:21] And his mother's name, Monica. [35:24] And Monica's the most positive person I've ever seen. [35:28] The night that he was so badly hit and the doctors gave him almost no chance, I called their hospital room and spoke to her. [35:38] And she said, sir, he'll be fine. [35:39] Oh, no, I'm telling you, he's going to. [35:41] I'm praying. [35:42] The whole country is praying. [35:43] Sir, I'm telling you, don't worry about it. [35:46] He's going to be fine. [35:47] This is the mother talking to me. [35:50] And the father's, like, devastated. [35:52] He's an incredible guy, too, both. [35:55] And I went. [35:57] And invited them to the Oval Office and they came in. [36:00] She said, sir, he's fine. [36:03] It was amazing, actually. [36:06] And today, Monica, she said, we're all praying and I'm praying. [36:13] And then she called to say, sir, he moved his finger today. [36:16] This is like three days later. [36:17] He moved his finger. [36:19] And today I got a call that he got up from bed. [36:23] Do you believe that? [36:24] He got up. [36:26] He got up. [36:32] Now, he didn't speak.
