[0:00] uh has been incredible it's the biggest price reduction in drugs in history by itself we should [0:06] win the midterms but it doesn't work that way unfortunately you know it doesn't work that way [0:12] people forget too quickly but we'll have the biggest it's the biggest uh cut in drug prices [0:16] in the history of our country by many percentage points with this announcement 17 of the world's [0:23] largest pharmaceutical companies representing 80 percent of the branded drug market have now [0:28] agreed to sell their drugs to american patients at the lowest prices anywhere in the world we have [0:33] the lowest prices in the world this will result in the largest drop in prescription drug prices in [0:39] the history of the united states of america i mean it should be front page news but it won't be [0:46] it'll be back on page 19 but the people get it that's why we're in the oval office i guess [0:52] i want to thank regeneran ceo a friend of mine for a long time good good guy great guy ceo len schleifer [1:00] and chief scientific officer george yankopoulos who are two fantastic people in the medical world [1:07] very respected we're also joined by secretary robert f kennedy jr bobby thank you secretary [1:15] howard lutnik administrator of the centers for medicare and medicaid services dr memenaz who's [1:22] doing a fantastic job they all are fda commissioner martin mccary and chief counselor of health and human [1:29] services chris clump thanks chris great job you're doing chris wherever you may be [1:37] for decades americans have been forced to pay the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs [1:42] by far prices that were many many times what the rest of the world was paying because we had a [1:49] president that didn't know what they were doing or they weren't able to get other countries to agree to [1:53] it i was able to do that because i used tariffs i said if you don't agree to it we're going to put [1:59] tariffs on your country and they said we would be honored to do it sir after telling everybody no [2:05] including me but they agreed to do it the united states is just four percent of the world's population [2:12] and consumers only 13 percent of all prescription drugs yet pharmaceutical companies have been making [2:18] 75 of their profits from american customers so think of that with four percent of the population [2:26] and doing only 13 of all prescription drugs the companies make 75 made i don't know maybe hopefully [2:34] they continue because actually it's not as bad for them as it sounds in fact many of their stocks are up [2:40] because actually when the price goes up on the one end they make up for the price coming down in the [2:46] united states so it really worked out pretty good to address this chronic unfairness i signed an executive [2:52] order instructing my administration to do everything in our power to slash prescription drug prices for [2:58] americans while getting other countries to pay more in many cases much more but their other prices [3:05] doubled and sometimes they tripled and ours would go down by 60 70 80 percent even more today we're [3:12] building on our unprecedented success with regeneron committing to offer all new drugs moving forward [3:20] at most favored nations prices they'll make their current drugs available to medicaid and mfn [3:28] it's most favored nation additionally they'll also offer their current drug praluent which is the lower [3:37] cholesterol and fight heart disease to all consumers at dramatically lower costs it'll come down from [3:44] five hundred and thirty seven dollars to two hundred and twenty five dollars and be available at trump rx [3:51] dot gov i didn't put the name bobby did and oz did it's true actually remember i came in i said [3:59] what's this but they said it'll be better it'll sell better would you help us [4:04] so i now have my name on medication but it's doing great i hear it's setting records actually i was watching [4:12] the other day and uh mark cuban of all people said uh it's amazing what trump has done with this [4:20] i can't believe when i heard him say that i was sort of in a state of shock but others have said it [4:25] too this whole thing is it's turned out to be hot so that's trump rx dot gov the company will also [4:32] invest 27 billion dollars to build up research and development for at pharmaceutical manufacturing here in [4:39] america which is a big thank you very much today i'm also announcing that the fda has just approved [4:45] a new drug from regenerate called otarmany a gene therapy curing a rare disease that causes deafness [4:55] people are totally deaf and it's amazing i've seen some work on it it's actually hard to believe we're [5:02] going to talk about it in a minute normally cures for rare diseases can cost millions of dollars and [5:08] really the results aren't that good but in this case i'm pleased to say that regenerate will be [5:15] giving this away for free for a period of time for free and here with us is two-year-old travis smith [5:22] he was born deaf was he totally deaf this is a hundred percent he was a hundred percent [5:30] there but he took this miracle cure and now he can hear his mom sierra say i love you and sierra [5:38] could you maybe uh say a few words that's was [6:54] he didn't it's very tough for oh for sure he can't tell me what he wants or what he wants to eat or [7:00] what he needs and now he'll be able to do that wow it's life-changing that's a great job they've done [7:06] i want to thank regeneran and other companies for doing their part to bring down the cost of health [7:11] care for all americans under our most favorite nations agreement we've secured gigantic discounts [7:17] with price differences from four to five and even six hundred percent six hundred percent one of the [7:25] most popular weight loss drugs has gone from one thousand three hundred and fifty dollars a month [7:30] to as low as 199 a month so that's a uh price that's incredible so it used to sell in london for 87 [7:40] and they raised it to 199 which is a big raise if you you know from 87 to 199 but that's been going on [7:49] that our country has been being ripped off for 30 years how long would you say like 30 40 years [7:55] for years with drugs and drug prices so they're going up we're going way down and because the [8:02] world is a bigger place than we are believe it or not it's hard to believe that but they are [8:07] that we go down much more than they go up so they don't go up as much as people would have thought [8:12] so they're going from uh they're going to 199 and we're going down all the way down think of that [8:19] we're going down from 1 350 a month to 199 that's nobody would believe it and this is true with all [8:29] i mean this is the weight loss drug but uh this is true with all drugs sometimes even more of a [8:37] difference than that sometimes a little bit less but sometimes substantially more than even that [8:41] difference and you see what that is so we cut the per cycle cost of ivf drugs by thousands of dollars [8:49] and we reduce the price of the major copd medication from 458 dollars to 50 dollars what that must be a [9:00] typo is that a typo from 458 to 50 dollars if your boy was here he'd go wow he left he got bored i think [9:13] he wants to go into bigger and better things there but there's nothing bigger or better than this [9:18] they'll all be available right now at trump rx.gov so it's you know that's why it's doing well it's not [9:23] doing well for other reasons it's doing well think of that that's some discount but we have others [9:28] and these are all top companies and top medications and i think in the end we're going to have every [9:33] company involved we're almost there right now but we're going to have every company around so trump rx has [9:39] already received more than 15 million visitors and every american should log on to check for massive [9:45] discounts before they go to the pharmacy it's setting a record nobody's ever seen anything like [9:49] this i've actually had many companies i shouldn't tell you this bobby but there have been many [9:55] companies say sir we'd like to buy from you if you could what trump rx.com i said it's not for sale [10:01] it's not me it's the government the government owns it i don't own it but they're all impressed [10:06] these pharmaceutical companies they said they've never seen anything like this so it's fantastic now [10:10] i'd like to ask secretary kennedy save you a few words and then we'll have dr raz the team at regeneron [10:18] and sierra and sierra i'm so happy for you and chris chris clump has been unbelievable a real star you [10:26] don't know his name as much as some of the others but uh he's a real star of the girls so bobby please [10:33] thank you thank you mr president i was reminded when the president was speaking of a conversation that i had [10:40] yesterday with one of the democratic senators who was questioning me during the hearing and she was [10:46] ridiculing president trump for his math and she was saying it's mathematically impossible to have a [10:53] drug drop by 600 cost which he had claimed and i said well if the drug was a hundred dollars and it [11:02] raised the price to six hundred dollars that would be a six hundred percent rise but if it drops from [11:07] 600 to 100 that's a 600 savings and the president used that mathematical device to illustrate the [11:17] magnitude of the theft that has been happening against our country and our people as he said [11:24] we have 4.2 of the world's population we take 13 of the pharmaceutical drugs we spend 80 percent of the [11:33] biotechnology research in our country and we provide 75 of the profits to the pharmaceutical industry this [11:42] is a ripoff that has irked him for 20 years during his first term he held the line on drug prices for [11:50] the first time in history he came back on this term and he said we're going to lower him this time no [11:55] matter what there's people in this room or a part of the white house staff who said we can't do that [12:01] uh oz and i said we probably can't do that but he harassed us we were beleaguered it was like fort apache [12:11] dr oz would not uh answer his phone because he was calling all night long with the president on the [12:17] line saying get this done and we brought in this amazing superstar chris klopp and he negotiated these [12:26] these agreements that people said were impossible i want to thank him for his leadership chris [12:33] and i wanted to have george and lynn who are the co-founders of this country this company of [12:39] regeneron their generosity their idealism their love of this country and their compassion for [12:45] these children over injuries thank you thank you amazing it is amazing you're right i took a lot of [12:51] heat and say 500 600 but we also say sometimes 50 percent 60 percent different kind of calculation 70 80 and [13:00] 90 percent and people understand that better but there are two ways of calculating it but uh either [13:06] way it doesn't make any difference whether it's 60 70 or 80 percent nobody's ever heard of it but it's [13:12] also 500 600 700 depending on the way you want to look at it so the way the way you word the calculation [13:19] it's either way but uh bobby you're doing a fantastic job we wanted somebody out of the box and we got him [13:26] right i would say we got him and bobby he's the great guy actually so uh oz how about saying a few [13:33] words please so this has been an unprecedented process the president insisted we deal with one [13:39] critical number you should all remember which is that one in three americans when they go to the drug [13:43] store after they've seen a doctor will often leave empty-handed because they cannot afford the medications [13:48] they're picking up so affordability was the main word the president would use in many of those phone [13:53] calls he wanted to be done fairly if we created a partnership with the pharmaceutical industry [13:58] that was remarkable and that it pushed 17 massive companies into the fold to try to do deals again [14:06] unprecedented that would allow us to claim that they were giving the most favored nation pricing to [14:11] this country to the american people the president would not take no for an answer we got 16 companies in [14:17] but not the 17th how many times do you think we spoke about the 17th company too much 17 he said 17 [14:24] he wanted to be 17 whatever matthew you want to make 16 is not 17. there's a reason that the 17th [14:29] company was delayed it's why they're here today it's that beautiful young boy you saw earlier [14:33] when you can save a child's hearing and mr president we talked about a lot of numbers [14:37] secretary kennedy quoted 100 you know 100 600 it's hard to beat free free is the best price and that's [14:43] the starting price with the president oftentimes and that's what this wonderful companies agreed to [14:48] i want to applaud trump rx.gov a remarkable site created by joe jebbia ed courstein has done a [14:54] wonderful job with zero glitches serving more than 10 million individual unique americans so far [15:01] and mr president it's the fastest website i've ever seen people love it because it works well [15:05] there's all kinds of additional uh elements being added to it which we'll be talking about but this [15:10] website as the president said must be checked must be checked if you're going to buy a medication [15:15] to make sure your price is the right price it's a transparency site that is more rigorous than [15:20] anything that i have seen and mr president your name is attached to it and of course that brings a [15:24] tremendous amount of uh attention to it we wanted it to be perfect and the team that did that has [15:28] accomplished that exactly i want to applaud chris as you cannot thank him enough but it was also john [15:33] brooks imma hernandez i see beth back there uh theo rugell a bunch of people who've done a tremendous [15:38] amount of work and what i keep hearing for the pharmaceutical industry maybe my colleagues can [15:42] address it in your comments they never expected to have a counterparty as qualified in the federal [15:47] government if you're thinking of serving your nation this is the right time to do it this is the [15:50] right administration to serve him because the president makes it easy to do the right thing [15:55] gentlemen thank you mr president secretary we are very far away from a cure and we have to understand that discovering cures is perhaps the [17:45] hardest scientific challenge humans undertake much harder than getting to the moon not that we don't [17:51] like that but much harder than even getting to mars or making the next generation of cell phones or [17:57] electric cars hard like staring into the unknown for years sometimes decades represents 86 percent of the branded pharmaceutical drug market in the united [24:26] states but anyone who knows us knows that we're not done that's a milestone it's not the finish line [24:32] and so we have three core objectives that are next up number one and this is already underway [24:38] we are negotiating with the many hundreds of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies representing [24:42] that other 14 percent that are building the cures for tomorrow to all those who are listening i hope [24:49] that we have proven that we are credible and reliable and trustworthy partners we want to sit with you [24:55] we will listen to you we will take the time to understand your businesses not only as we negotiate [24:59] on behalf of every american family for affordability but also to ensure that your best position to create [25:05] the cures for tomorrow second we continue our work on negotiating international trade agreements [25:12] 59 days after we stood in this office and president trump standing with albert borla from pfizer announced [25:17] the first of the 17 mfn deals together with our colleagues from the department of commerce under [25:22] secretary letnik's leadership and from the u.s trade president's office under the leadership of [25:27] ambassador greer we negotiated a landmark agreement with the government united kingdom in which they [25:32] agreed to increase significantly the amount that they spent on branded pharmaceuticals for the first time in 26 [25:38] years that work continues with other countries and third we will continue our work with our partners [25:46] in congress to codify the principles that underpin these most favored nation deals so that these [25:51] savings for american families and this innovation that is unleashed at the same time persists for [25:57] decades to come so that the one in three or four families that dr oz mentioned standing at a pharmaceutical [26:02] counter or pharmacy counter right now wrestling with the decision that no family should have to make [26:07] of whether or not they can pick up their prescription because they can't afford it will no longer be [26:11] the case and at the same time we know that there are roughly 20 000 known diseases in the world and [26:16] we have a treatment or a cure for fewer than a quarter of those and so this president and his policies is [26:22] not only safeguarding affordability for american families but is ensuring that we continue to bet on [26:27] american exceptionalism we bet on innovation we bet on the principles that have taken us to this place [26:33] in 250 years for the next 250 years thank you mr president well thank you chris great job you do [26:40] maybe you want to talk about rescheduling while we're here and just say what you're doing and [26:44] the progress that you've made great well mr president today is another promise made promise kept day [26:51] on december 18th you signed an executive order on increasing medical marijuana and cannabidiol research [26:57] and today we delivered on that promise the acting attorney general this morning signed an order [27:02] that moves into schedule three medical marijuana products that are fda approved or that are state [27:08] licensed this is a giant move forward to implement your promise and it's actually a campaign promise [27:13] that you made you said where you're going to move into schedule three to increase the research [27:17] on these medical products and just wanted everyone to know that one you make promises you keep them [27:23] and two what does schedule three mean for state licensed medical marijuana products [27:27] we will begin implementation right away of this order it does not legalize marijuana it makes it [27:34] it makes it easy for the researchers to actually study and understand medical marijuana especially [27:40] in populations that are using it we know that one in ten seniors right now use use medical marijuana [27:46] in the past year and they report that it really helps them but we don't have the science or the [27:50] understanding to guide the patients and the doctors and so both patients and doctors are flying blind [27:55] without knowing how they interact with other medications because the research has been [27:59] difficult to do and so your promise today says those state licensed medical marijuana products are [28:03] now in schedule three and we expect the research to significantly increase so that we can understand [28:09] how to guide patients and doctors in this effort and there will be additional actions that will come [28:13] this summer to do an expedited hearing for the administrative um an administrative hearing department of justice [28:20] for um all of marijuana to move into schedule three and the military is very happy about it and a lot of [28:26] people suffering from big problems which this seems to be the best answer they're very happy about it so [28:32] the rescheduling is starting and that's a big thing rescheduling they kept saying what about the rescheduling [28:38] and so great job i appreciate it i want to thank mr and mrs howard kessler he's one of the most successful men [28:46] in the world actually and uh he had some medical difficulties and he came upon this by accident in [28:54] a way and he said well he had to go through a lot of different uh a lot of different medications and [29:02] he said this was the one that was much better than anything else and so he experienced it he didn't [29:07] benefit by it other than from the standpoint that he lives a much better life now so uh hopefully you [29:14] don't need it but if you do need it i hear it's i hear it's the best of all the alternatives but i [29:20] want to thank howard kessler and michelle kessler they really pushed this very hard these are two [29:26] people very straight arrows they're not into marijuana they're not into anything but he found this answer [29:32] and he said for the he's doing it for other people and so howard and michelle probably they're watching [29:39] or they'll be hearing about it but they worked very hard to get this uh done and it's an honor and [29:45] you've done fantastically you all have and i appreciate it and a man who's doing an excellent [29:50] job is howard let nick is in a little different sphere he's not in the medical sphere but he knows what [29:54] it all means and uh from commerce he's the secretary of commerce uh howard would you say a few words for [30:01] us sure so in partnership with uh bobby kennedy and memenaz and the whole team when they do most [30:09] favored nation we also ask the company to reassure and build their drugs here in america because too [30:16] many of our drugs are key drugs for our health are being made overseas and in a conflict we can't rely [30:23] upon them and i'm honored to say that our partners from regeneraan have agreed to reassure their [30:30] production of pharmaceutical drugs and this is exactly from your pharmaceutical tariffs that's [30:36] the point so that means 448 billion dollars of drug manufacturing is coming to america because of [30:46] your tariffs because of your pharmaceutical strategy and we are proud to invite regeneron to do this giant [30:54] build in america and all the rest of the pharmaceutical companies they've committed to build in america because [31:00] of your tariff policy and your strategy and because of the tariffs we have it's been amazing actually [31:06] we have eli lily and pfizer and all of the companies we had i guess seven of them here at one time which [31:12] was interesting to see but they actually got along with each other pretty well they stood right behind [31:16] me the biggest companies in the world and uh they're all building uh eli lily is building i think five [31:22] major plants which without tariffs they would have built none i said how many would you build without [31:28] none uh they were all making these products in other countries a lot of other countries actually not [31:33] just china but a lot of other countries and i think by the time i leave office they'll be [31:39] mostly operating these they have an incentive to do them quickly big incentive like the tariffs go up [31:46] if they don't and remember if they do them here they don't have any tariffs to pay it's an incredible [31:51] incentive and if they don't do them here they have a very substantial tariff so they get penalized [31:56] and it's bringing countries not only drug companies but car companies ai is a different [32:01] thing altogether but even there but the ai is we're leading china in ai we're leading everybody in ai [32:08] we're leading uh now in car companies they're coming from canada they're coming from mexico germany [32:13] japan they're pouring into our country because they're very smart should have been done long ago by [32:19] other presidents we were the car capital of the world 50 or 60 years ago and then they just started [32:25] taking them away we were the chip capital of the world and now you know intel and now uh they're [32:32] coming back all the chip companies are coming back you may say a word about that howard real fast [32:37] because we are what we're doing with chips are incredible and what we're doing is saying uh at the [32:42] end of a year and a half two years if you don't have your chip company you're going to pay a tremendous [32:46] tariff to put chips into this country and they are building i think we'll have close to 50 of the chip [32:52] market very soon right now we had nothing we had virtually nothing and they're coming in from [32:57] taiwan they're coming in mostly from taiwan because that's where chips are made but mostly from south [33:02] korea taiwan various other countries but they're coming back to america we're bringing them all back [33:07] it's a revolution nobody's ever seen what we've done there's never been anything like what we've done we [33:12] have 18 trillion dollars being invested that's for 11 months and the last administration had less than [33:18] one trillion in four years we have in 11 months over 18 trillion dollars uh howard do you want to [33:24] talk just for a second about the chip market because it's it's explosive sure so you've got [33:29] semiconductors you've got leading edge logic you've got high bandwidth memory and you have foundational [33:35] chips and america had a couple of points three or four percent market share and we are of course the [33:42] biggest demand and the president gave the order let's get these factories these fabs [33:48] built in america and our expectation is we will have one trillion dollars of these fabs these are [33:56] factories this is not the hyperscalers buying chips this is literally the making of the chips [34:03] right we had micron 200 billion dollars tsmc 165 billion the list goes on and on he negotiated a great deal [34:11] with taiwan 500 billion dollars coming to america we'll have one trillion dollars of semiconductors [34:17] that's part of his 18 trillion but it's foundational for us to take care of ourselves thank you very [34:24] much now uh i'll go off subject for a minute but it's i think it's very interesting and i hope you go [34:30] over take a look because it's happening right now as we speak uh but first uh if you look outside so we had [34:38] flooring outside we had a slate and it was coming to pieces it's been there since the early 1940s [34:46] and it's a path to the oval office it's a path to the west wing and it was terrible it was broken [34:52] bad shape the whole white house has been in bad shape it's been it's right now in better shape than [34:57] it is i think the day they built it this is better right now but we're putting magnificent new granite [35:04] it's called uh charcoal it's a black granite against the white beautiful white walls [35:10] uh we've stripped all of the paints off we had 200 years of paint and we've uh redone it and it's [35:17] beautiful and you can see the building but you can also see the columns everything else but we're [35:22] replacing and they're working right outside if the press wants to go and take a look at what's they [35:26] they do really pros you see the web large slabs of black granite granite is rated as this particular [35:34] granite over a million year life uh as an example concrete gets rated for about 200 years if you get [35:41] very high grade this is over it's rated over can you imagine nature produces something better than [35:45] you can make so it's very interesting it's a beautiful job they're doing and it's uh highly [35:51] polished granite of the areas you don't walk on and it's uh it's called flame finished the areas that [35:57] you do walk on there's no slip so it's a beautiful job and it's going up nice and if you want to take a [36:03] look outside the window so that's replacing the stone that was here from the early 1940s a little before [36:09] that and uh you'll see the ramp too we're keeping the ramp and that was for fdr needed a ramp some [36:17] people would know and in his honor we're leaving it i wanted to leave it means something the other [36:24] thing that we're doing that's taking place right now is the lincoln memorial has a beautiful reflecting [36:31] pond or lake they call it a pool lake and pond just all everything is different but the word reflecting is [36:38] a good term it was built in 1922 and it was built out of granite and various stones on the bottom and [36:47] they didn't never look great because that's not really meant to be a stone that's underwater for that [36:52] much of a period of time it's about a foot and a half to two feet deep you all know it well that's where [36:58] martin luther king gave his great speech and he had a million people and i had the same exact crowd maybe a [37:05] little bit more but they said i had 25 000 people on july 4th i have pictures of martin luther king's [37:10] crowd my crowds the exact same everything but it was 70 years difference the exact same crowd but [37:17] i actually had more people but that's okay they gave him they gave him a million people they said a [37:23] million people and i had 25 000 people so but these are the things that you get with we had on july 4th [37:30] uh a few years ago first term so you have this reflecting lake pond is incredible but it was [37:40] terrible the condition you all know it a friend of mine came from germany to see me and he said oh [37:46] we went over it so sad what said this is a number of months ago he said it's filthy dirty it's the water's [37:53] disgusting looking it's not representative of the country and i said well i'm gonna have to go take a look [37:59] because you know secret service doesn't let you just walk around too freely actually and i went [38:04] over there with secret service in tow and i said isn't that a shame it's terrible and so they had bids [38:13] from the biden administration sleepy joe and they had bids for years they were going to do something to [38:20] fix it but they never got it done and it's so uh it's it's so important for our country everybody [38:27] knows is it covers the washington monument lincoln memorial it's in between it's uh 2 200 feet that's [38:35] taller than any building in the world if you lay it down on its side think of it 2 000 that's a long [38:41] 2 000 over 2 000 feet long so that would be many swimming pools many many many stacked up together [38:48] but it would be the equivalent of the tallest building in the world plus uh laid down on its side [38:53] so it's very big it's very wide actually it looks narrow because it's so long and so the pricing was [39:01] coming in over the years but it came in sort of recently that it was going to cost 301 million [39:09] to fix it it was going to take three and a half years so they had to take all the granite out which [39:14] is there again 1922 and it was leaking like a sieve you couldn't keep water couldn't keep anything [39:21] uh granite's not the right stone for that right stone for that but not for that and i said you [39:27] know i have an idea it's 301 million it was going to take three years so remember those numbers 301 [39:33] million this is a business study and it was going to take three to three and a half years and over [39:40] the years as a developer i've probably built more than 100 swimming pools in different buildings i [39:45] built and i have some really good pool builders i also had some really bad ones but we took care of [39:50] them they didn't last they didn't last too long howard but i've had some really good ones some very [39:56] talented very talented people they're great people i have such great respect for contractors that are [40:02] good and such disdain for contractors that are bad they charge you more money and they give you a bad job [40:09] but we we don't accept it but over the years i've had three or four really good ones and i took the best [40:16] of the three i had all three go but i ended up taking the best and [40:20] i said when you take a look at this it's 2 200 feet long he said what do you want me to look at [40:27] i said have a little swimming pool think of it as a swimming pool i said oh how big is it i said [40:32] 2 200 feet by 167 feet wide he said that's the biggest swimming pool he said i've been doing this [40:39] for a lot of years so i've never heard of a pool like that i said well you'll see it's a reflecting pool [40:43] and very famous very famous very big signal and uh very important for washington dc where we by the [40:50] we have almost no crime i have to say that's maybe the more important than talking about this [40:55] we have a crime down from a tremendously high one of the worst in the country we have almost no crime [41:00] people are walking around restaurants are opening all over the place the place is bustling but that [41:05] makes this even more important so instead of being a dirty disgusting place where garbage was in it and [41:11] everything else and i want to give doug bergum incredible credit because he was involved the secretary of [41:17] dean terry he was involved right from the i called him i said doug i'm getting a lot of complaints [41:22] about the condition of this what do you think and he went over he studied it and he came back with some [41:26] ideas but i said you know doug i have a guy who's unbelievable at doing swimming pools up the road [41:33] we have a club we have an olympic-sized swimming pool he did it 20 years ago and it's perfect to this day [41:39] so i asked him i said i have an idea uh i'm going to send my contractor over and take a look he looked at [41:46] and he called me up he said sir we can do something on it he said it's perfect actually he said it's [41:52] really decaying and it's a terrible condition but if you would i'd like to work two weeks on cleaning [41:59] it up which is if you see right here you'd like to like to repoint and fix some of the joints it [42:05] won't matter because we're putting a substance over the top but it's nice to have a nice surface [42:10] and he said it'd take me two weeks if you don't mind and then i'd like to pour the latest and greatest [42:17] filament or material which is essentially a pool surface but it's a industrial gray pool and he [42:26] said what color would you like sir i said well what about turquoise like in the bahamas he said well [42:33] this is washington sir we can give you turquoise but why don't you try like we have a color it's called [42:38] american flag blue i said that's the color i like he talked me into it very easily so he said that's the [42:44] color i like so uh he came in and remember three and a half years you have to take all the granite [42:53] out then you have to put all brand new granite in take years to do it over 300 million our job will [43:03] take one week and will cost about a million and a half dollars and people said wow and here's the only [43:14] difference because somebody said well the difference is no the difference is this is much better this will [43:19] last 30 40 50 years and if it didn't you do it again quickly if you want so it's being done now [43:28] and i think the uh i think you'd find it really amazing to go take a look so here it is you see the [43:33] trucks he's uh got scrapers and you know all sorts of equipment to make the stone as good as possible [43:41] without removing it so we're using the existing surface so we don't have to spend millions of [43:46] dollars in demolition and uh he said much better to leave the stone than it is what's underneath [43:52] they're afraid to look and so you see it's beautiful clean it's ready to be taken care of here's a sign [43:59] that we put and so doug burgum and myself are involved in that and but when you take a look at the uh [44:08] surface we have it in good shape and they just started today putting down the material it's a machine [44:15] it lays it very evenly beautiful goes from one side to the other it'll take about three days [44:20] and you're gonna end up with a beautiful beautiful reflecting pool the way it's supposed to be [44:26] much better than it ever was actually uh it'll stay clean we even have robots that go in it and they [44:33] they ride around the bottom and they clean it like your swimming pool but these are [44:37] a much higher level this is industrial grade and it's really beautiful so you're gonna have a beautiful [44:43] pool and you'll have it uh for july 4th long before july 4th instead of taking three three and a half [44:50] years we're taking a week and instead of spending 301 million dollars we're spending less than two [44:57] million dollars and i think it's a great business story because there are many things like that [45:02] that i see i mean not maybe to that extent but there are many things like that that i say i often talk [45:09] about the pen this pen is better than the one that they used to give away for 2000 i won't go on the [45:13] long story about that because a couple of people said he kept talking about the pen you know i gave [45:18] you the whole history of it actually many people found it interesting and some people thought i was [45:22] doing too much of a weave but actually with this pen for three dollars five dollars two dollars whatever [45:30] the hell it costs is better than the one for uh thousand to two thousand dollars that used to hand away [45:36] so uh that's the short version of it i like the short version better but the long version is this one so this [45:43] is a an amazing thing that's happening and this is a big big beautification in addition to that the [45:50] sidewalk areas around it which were done in granite similar granite to that actually not as nice as we [45:56] have here to be honest with you but you know the people that did did it weren't in the world of real [46:02] estate like i am but they have good granite circling it and we're going to repoint it meaning we're going to [46:09] caulk it up and repoint it make it good and we're going to also sandblast it it'll be like brandon [46:14] so we're going to have in another couple of weeks we're going to have the most beautiful reflecting pool [46:20] between the washington monument and the lincoln memorial that you've ever seen and i hope the [46:25] media can go over maybe watch them do it because it's i think it's very exciting and so fraction of [46:30] the cost and a fraction of the time and you get a better product than you could ever get the other [46:34] way and it'll be beautiful and as he said it will be american flag blue any questions please yes [46:41] could you talk a little bit about why your navy secretary was fired yesterday sir uh he's a [46:46] wonderful guy i just put out a statement about him very he's a very good man i love i really liked him [46:52] but he had some conflict with not necessarily pete with some other he's a hard charger and he had some [46:58] conflicts with some other people mostly as to uh building and buying new ships i'm very aggressive [47:05] in the new ship building and somehow he just didn't get along with them he's an excellent guy [47:12] i think he would have gotten along great with me i didn't really deal with him too much but [47:16] he's a uh you know i consider him to have done a very good job i put out a nice statement about him [47:22] you got to get along especially in the military you got to get along you know and and some people [47:27] liked him some people didn't and that's uh usually the truth about everything but i found him to be a [47:34] very good man and i i liked him a lot how long are you willing to wait until you get a unified response [47:44] don't rush me jeff uh you know guys like you you want to say oh so we were in vietnam like for 18 years [47:50] we were in iraq for many many years we're in for all the i don't like to say world war ii because that [47:56] was a biggie but we were four and a half almost five years in world war ii we were in the korean [48:02] war for seven years i've been doing this for six weeks and we're their military is totally defeated [48:10] they're they're uh outside of the little wise guy ships i call them the wise guy ships the little [48:17] boats that they have running around with guns in them uh we'll take them out too when we see them [48:24] but uh their navy is gone their air force is gone their anti-aircraft is gone all of their anti-aircraft [48:31] machinery is gone maybe they loaded up a little bit during the two-week hiatus but we'll knock that [48:36] out in about one day if they did uh we've done an amazing job their leaders are gone you know their [48:42] leaders are all gone part of the problem is that uh that's why i can't really answer your question [48:48] they have all new leadership and they're fighting like cats and dogs for who's going to control [48:54] because we've created a real mess for them but they've created a mess for the world over the last [49:00] 47 years they've killed a lot of our people when you see a soldier a young person or now an older [49:07] person but a person without legs or without arms or with a face that got blown to pieces most likely it [49:13] was from iran that was salamani who i killed uh salamani loved the roadside bomb he was an evil genius he [49:20] was a brilliant general probably we wouldn't be as far advanced had i not taken him out that was [49:25] the beginning of it all and then i ended the obama horror show the the nuclear transaction that he [49:35] made was hard it gave him a road to the you call it i mean what the deal that he did the iran nuclear [49:41] deal was so bad it gave him a road to a nuclear weapon and i will tell you i deal with him you [49:46] cannot give iran a nuclear weapon this is all about a nuclear weapon they cannot have the nuclear bomb and [49:51] they're not going to have the nuclear bomb so we've taken out their military we've hit about [49:56] 75 of our targets we stopped a little early because they wanted to have some peace and we have a [50:05] blockade that's 100 percent effective and they're getting no business and as you know they're not doing [50:13] well economically financially they're not doing any business because of the blockade they want to make a [50:20] deal we have been speaking to them but they don't even know who's leading the country they're in [50:26] turmoil they're in turmoil so we thought we'd give them a little chance to get some of their turmoil [50:31] resolved but you know and i hope the fake news people like you i hope the fake news are going to [50:37] be able to write about it accurately because when you say oh they're fighting very well they're not [50:41] fighting well they would they've been obliterated jeff obliterated uh 159 ships are in the navy you know how [50:49] many ships are at the bottom of the sea jeff 159 so you know and if you read the new york times the [50:58] failing new york times subscriptions are way down as you know that's because people don't believe this [51:04] stuff anymore if you watch cnn you'd think that they're doing well in the war they're not doing [51:09] well they're getting absolutely decimated now with all of that being said we'll see what happens you have [51:15] a lot of uh we have no pressure it's only guys like you with a question like that about what's your time [51:21] we've been doing it for five and a half weeks that the u.s now has been involved with iran [51:28] you had initially said it would be four to six well i hope that but i also took a little break i gave [51:33] them a break and remember this uh i want to make the best deal i could make a deal right now do you [51:41] know that if i left right now we had a tremendous success it would take them 20 years to rebuild but i [51:46] don't want to do that i want to have it everlasting i want to have it where they never get they never have [51:52] a chance to get i mean the way you asked that question yeah i did say it i thought it would take [51:57] four to six weeks and i was right because at the end of six weeks at the end of four weeks [52:02] the military was decimated but now what i'm doing i don't i can't tell you that i don't want to put [52:08] that kind of a timetable on it but it'll go pretty quickly and uh we'll have the strait opened up [52:15] now right now we have it closed we have total control of the strait and the fact that it slows you [52:20] know they would have opened it up three days ago they came to us and they said we will agree to open [52:25] the strait and all my people are happy everybody was happy except me i said wait a minute if we open [52:29] the strait that means they're going to make 500 million dollars a day i don't want them to make [52:34] 500 million dollars a day until they settle this thing so i'm the one that kept it closed we have total [52:40] control of it uh and it'll open when they make a deal or something else happens that's very positive [52:46] what do you say to the american people who question how much longer this will take obviously [52:53] you know that they are having you are such a disgrace did you know what i just said vietnam [52:58] how many years was vietnam how many years was vietnam well i did my i took i took i took the [53:06] country out militarily in the first four weeks i took it out militarily now what we're doing is [53:15] sitting back and seeing what deal and if they don't want to make a deal then i'll finish it up [53:20] militarily with the other 25 of the targets we've hit 78 of the targets that we've wanted to hit we've [53:26] knocked out their manufacturing we've knocked out their missile production we've knocked out their [53:31] drone production we've knocked out everything in some cases when i say knocked it out 70 80 90 [53:39] it's amazing what we've done so i've done that within that period of time that i mentioned but i don't [53:44] want to rush myself you know because every story i say oh trump is under time pressure i'm not no no [53:49] you know who's under time pressure they are because if they don't get their oil moving their whole [53:54] oil infrastructure is going to explode you know what that means because they have no place to store it [54:00] and because they have no place to store it if they have to stop it something happens that only len can [54:06] explain something happens underground that essentially renders it in very poor shape and you never recover [54:14] fully you can recover 50 60 percent but you could never have it like it is right now and they have [54:20] a matter of days before that event takes place so i'm not under any pressure whatsoever we've never [54:26] had so much ammunition our our ships are loaded i call them locked and loaded they're locked and loaded [54:32] they're ready to go we have much higher quality equipment that we did when we first started the war [54:38] and or the military operation whatever you want to call it and they're coming to us the problem they [54:46] have is they are very disorganized right now well now yesterday and i was very pleased with this eight [54:53] young women were going to be executed yesterday afternoon at six o'clock and i i asked them call [55:02] it a favor i call it just a moral request that they not be executed and they came back with an answer that [55:08] they won't be executed they're going to release it was protesting uh eight beautiful young women [55:14] very young women and they were the pictures in the paper and it's been a story for a little while and [55:19] i saw that and i i said let's see we can save them and they were it was very nice what happened so [55:26] uh they're not going to be what they're doing is as you know they're releasing four of them very [55:30] shortly and they're going to keep four of them in jail for a period of one month and release them so they [55:35] won't be executed so if you're asking for more time to sort out negotiations i'm not asking you for [55:41] more time i'm not asking for them no it's not more time i'm just i'm not asking anybody for more time [55:45] if you need more time does that mean americans should anticipate spending more on gasoline for [55:51] the foreseeable future a little while and you know what they get for that you know what they get for [55:55] that iran without a nuclear weapon that's going to try and blow up one of our cities or blow up the [56:00] entire middle east you want to see what shock would be and i i have to be honest the stock market is [56:07] at an all-time high right now i thought it would have been down 20 25 percent when we wait wait can [56:13] i finish my question wise guy stock market's at an all-time high right now i projected and i'm pretty [56:22] good at this that the stock market howard would drop maybe 20 percent 25 percent and i understood that [56:28] and i said hey it's a bad thing but i have to do what's right for the country even the world [56:33] because you can't have them there they you cannot let them have a nuclear weapon so [56:38] the stock market unlike what a lot of people were predicting i thought they weren't necessarily wrong [56:45] the stock market today hit an all-time high hit an all-time high yesterday the day before [56:50] and it's staying there i thought oil would go up to maybe 200 a barrel and oil is a very a different [56:58] number than anyone thought in fact this country is much slower because we have all the oil we can [57:03] use with we're actually ships are coming from all over the world to texas louisiana and alaska [57:10] they're coming from all over the world to get oil from the united states you know while this is closed [57:14] the hormones strain so uh if you look at what i said i guess it was right because i said i'd have [57:23] it four to six weeks and in four weeks we have totally defeated that military but you [57:26] be so right now i don't want to rush it because you guys are you know trying to make us look as [57:31] bad as possible i don't want to rush it i want to take my time we have plenty of time and i want to [57:36] get a great deal i want to get a deal where our nation and the world is safe from lunatics with [57:42] nuclear weapons yes if it does go to 200 are you okay with that sir i think that there's nothing worse [57:50] than a nuclear weapon that takes out one of your cities or two of your cities or three i think there's [57:55] nothing worse than a nuclear weapon that's going to destroy the middle east including israel [57:59] i think there's nothing worse than europe being under attacked by people that have missiles now [58:05] that reach more people employed today in the united [58:56] states than ever in the history of our country okay i have a question sir is it true that your [59:01] administration is considering sending 1100
