Trump has always had Michigan's back [21:52] Last year, I had the opportunity to go to the Oval Office [22:02] And work with President Trump [22:04] We talked about the issues that matter most to Michigan families, workers, and taxpayers [22:09] And let me tell you something [22:11] When President Trump says he's going to get something done [22:15] He gets it done [22:17] We talked about Selfridge Air National Guard Base [22:25] President Trump promised to protect Selfridge [22:28] And he delivered [22:29] And that means that 5,000 jobs are protected [22:37] And $850 million of economic impact to Michigan [22:42] And that fighter mission is going to keep that base open for another 30 to 40 years [22:47] We talked about the Asian carp that's threatening to invade the Great Lakes [22:56] The invasive fish that puts our $7 billion commercial and sport fishing economy at risk [23:03] And President Trump listened [23:05] Now, because of President Trump [23:08] We're building the gate to stop the Asian carp [23:11] And Michigan is taking control of the project [23:14] Not Illinois [23:15] Which means Michigan will fix our Great Lakes [23:18] And that's not it [23:25] Today, the traffic started flowing over the Gordie Howe Bridge [23:30] Because President Trump stepped up and made a fair deal for the people of Michigan [23:39] For years, Michigan was stuck in a bad agreement where Canada controlled all the toll revenue [23:45] And they got to make all the decisions [23:48] And Michigan was just a passenger [23:50] But because of President Trump and the new deal that he negotiated [23:54] The United States will receive a 50-50 share of the toll revenue [23:59] That's $300 million [24:01] That's $300 million over the next 15 years to support Michigan and America's commerce [24:13] And we finally have a voice and the seat at the table for future toll decisions [24:18] That's the art of the deal [24:20] Now, President Trump is also putting money back in the pockets of the Michigan families [24:30] With the working families tax cut [24:32] The largest tax cut in American history [24:35] There will be no tax on tips [24:37] No tax on overtime [24:38] And no tax on Social Security [24:41] And here in Michigan, we've amplified those tax cuts [24:49] With no tax on your state taxes [24:52] On tips, overtime, Social Security [24:54] And that's going to save hundreds of thousands of workers across Michigan [24:58] $1,500 to $2,000 every year off their taxes [25:02] More money in your pockets [25:04] And the tariffs are working [25:10] They're working [25:11] You know, at the state of Michigan, we got a report back from our economists [25:15] That said the tariffs are creating actually 5,000 more automotive jobs [25:21] And they're increasing the demand for domestic automotive cars [25:26] And this is, and President Trump has given us a leg up [25:37] By ending Joe Biden's failed green energy scam [25:41] His ridiculous emission rules [25:49] All the subsidies for the EVs [25:51] Nobody was buying [25:53] He's making it easier for Americans to buy American-made cars [25:57] Here in Michigan [25:59] And we're seeing the results [26:05] General Motors, where we are today [26:07] Announced recently [26:09] They're bringing more manufacturing back to Michigan [26:12] They're going to be building Silverados and Sierras [26:15] And the Escalades over at the Orion plant [26:18] And they've announced higher profits this year and again next year [26:22] And that's all because of President Trump's trade policies [26:32] And his tax policies to protect taxpayers and American workers [26:37] Now, we're at the state of Michigan working with President Trump [26:40] To cut waste, fraud, and abuse from our government [26:43] Just last week, we passed a law implementing President Trump's work requirements [26:48] For welfare benefits in Michigan [26:50] And this is just common sense [26:53] If you want free health care [26:55] And you're able to work [26:56] You should be working [26:57] If you're able to get an education [27:00] You should get an education [27:01] And if you're not working or going to school [27:04] You should at least be volunteering [27:06] We're just saying, get off the couch [27:08] Put down the PlayStation controller [27:10] And get involved [27:11] We want these important programs like Medicaid [27:21] To be there for people who truly need them [27:24] And still be there for our children and grandchildren [27:27] That's why in Michigan [27:29] We've passed new laws requiring child care providers [27:32] To accurately track attendance [27:34] So we don't have any more fraud [27:37] Like what we saw in Minnesota [27:38] And we've launched a new audit of our state's autism services [27:45] We spend more dollars on these programs than other states [27:49] But for decades, nobody has ever looked into where the money is going [27:53] And that ends now [27:54] We're going to get to the bottom of it [28:02] Stop fraud [28:03] And make sure taxpayer dollars support real patients and real families [28:07] We're forcing Gretchen Whitmer's administration [28:10] To work with President Trump's team [28:12] To check Medicaid and food stamp rolls [28:15] We're going to remove illegal aliens from the rolls [28:18] And stop people from committing fraud with our tax [1:58:18] We love him. [1:58:20] But on trade, Trump is much better, much better. [1:58:25] But this facility is proudly designed, built, and tested. [2:04:33] If you make your truck or your car in a foreign country, [2:04:35] you have to pay for the privilege of sending it [2:04:38] into our market and making a lot of money. [2:04:41] But if you build in a factory in Michigan [2:04:44] or someplace in our country [2:04:47] and make your automobiles or trucks right here in America, [2:04:50] you pay zero tax and zero tariff. [2:04:52] You pay zero, zero tariffs. [2:04:55] There are no tariffs. [2:04:57] And we've taken in hundreds of billions of dollars [2:05:00] for the country aside from it. [2:05:01] But we keep a lot. [2:05:03] As an example, Europe is being taken over by the Chinese cars. [2:05:07] You know that, right? [2:05:09] Mercedes-Benz is being absolutely decimated. [2:05:12] BMW, good companies decimated. [2:05:15] Volkswagen decimated. [2:05:17] They don't do anything about it. [2:05:19] We don't have to, to the best of my knowledge, [2:05:21] marry one Chinese car in the country. [2:05:24] They have 100 percent tariff. [2:26:19] And according to a report released just last week, [2:26:23] the great, big, beautiful bill saved [2:26:24] more than 170,000 Michigan jobs. [2:26:29] You saw that. [2:26:29] Think of — think of that. [2:26:33] If you took 170,000 people off of your — [2:26:37] off of your taxpaying payrolls, [2:26:41] think of how many — think of how many people that is, [2:26:44] filling a big stadium up three times. [2:26:48] But remember, every single Democrat — [2:26:50] it's a new word that I use, Democrat. [2:26:52] I just exchanged the E for the U. [2:26:54] It works out quite nicely. [2:26:55] Thank you. [2:32:21] We moved them out. [2:32:22] And it's really considered a very safe city. [2:32:24] All the restaurants were closing up. [2:32:26] Nobody wanted to operate a restaurant. [2:35:03] We are such a disaster. [2:35:05] The crime is so bad. [2:35:07] And they've had a lot of problems with crime. [2:35:09] And I sent our team in there and called me back. [2:35:13] He said, you know, crime is down almost 80 percent. [2:35:17] Think of that, almost 80 percent. [2:35:19] This was eight months ago. [2:35:20] And they had the safest Mardi Gras they've ever had. [2:35:25] And in Memphis, Tennessee, the governor called, [2:35:27] and the mayor called. [2:35:28] The Democrat mayor called. [2:47:29] Eighteen months ago, we inherited a catastrophe from the Biden and from the radical left Democrats. [2:47:37] They created the worst inflation in 48 years. Wide open borders with millions and millions of people [2:47:43] from mental institutions, insane asylum, the world's worst prisons pouring into our country. [2:47:50] From all over the world, they came. They came from South America. They came from the Congo. [2:47:55] They came from places from all over the world. We had transgender for everybody — men playing in [2:48:03] women's sports, crime ravaging our cities. And the whole world was laughing at us as a stupid nation. [2:48:09] They called us a stupid nation. But they're not laughing anymore. America is respected. [2:48:18] Again, I think like we've never been respected before. You saw I went to the G20. I went to the G7. [2:48:25] I went wherever we go. They're — they're looking at us as the real leader again. For a long time, [2:48:32] that hadn't taken place. Under our leadership, we're making the largest ever investment in the [2:48:37] United States Armed Forces. And right here in Michigan, I got 21 new F-15EX Eagle IIs for Selfridge Air [2:48:47] National Guard Base. Ensuring that Michigan stays at the cutting edge of North American air power. [2:48:54] Selfridge was very, very important. It's a big deal. It was closed. It was over. It was going to be [2:49:00] closed. Now it's open. We have the strongest military anywhere in the world. By far, [2:49:05] we have the greatest people. We have the best equipment in the world. I built it during my first [2:49:10] term. And I'm using it now. We had no choice. Again, we can't let what was happening in Venezuela go on. [2:49:17] And it was very decisive. But we can't let what was and is going on — they killed 52,000 protesters. [2:49:26] Think of it in a four-month period — 52,000 in Iran. But we've already paid for the Venezuela [2:49:33] operation, as I said. And likewise, we're winning big time with the Islamic Republic of Iran. And we're [2:49:40] ensuring that they never have a nuclear weapon. When somebody comes up and says, [2:49:44] Why are we doing this? Just say, Because we cannot let them have a nuclear weapon. [2:49:49] It's very simple. That's all you have to say. There's nothing else you have to say. [2:49:53] If you understood the power of the nuclear weapons, you'd understand exactly what I was saying. [2:49:58] When I took office, we inherited the worst border in U.S. history. [2:50:02] But we quickly turned it into the most secure border in the history of our country by far. [2:50:08] And in the past 14 months, a number that's not even believable, but it is what it is. [2:50:13] It's published every month. A historic record of zero illegal aliens have been admitted into the [2:50:20] United States. Zero. And now, as you've been reading, crime is plummeting nationwide. [2:50:27] Last year, we achieved the largest drop in the murder rate ever recorded to the lowest level in [2:50:32] 125 years — 1900. That's before my father — bring up my father. That's before my father was born. [2:50:41] 125 years — lowest murder rate. And that's despite the fact that we have people in this [2:50:46] country that shouldn't be here. That's despite that. But a lot of them are being brought out very [2:50:51] rapidly. Under my most favored nation policy on drug prices, we're delivering the largest [2:50:58] prescription drug price cuts in the history of our country, by far, with differences of 400, [2:51:05] 500, and even 600 percent. Nobody can believe it. We were the highest priced for decades — the highest [2:51:13] price in the world for drugs — prescription drugs — and now we're the lowest price in the world. [2:51:20] So, you think that was — I won't bore you with the way I did it, but no other president was able to do [2:51:26] it. I'm not sure they even tried. But all of you have to go out and go to trumprx.gov — trumprx.gov — and [2:51:35] you're going to find that you're going to buy whatever you're looking for at a tiny fraction of what you were [2:51:39] paying. To stop the massive theft of taxpayer dollars, we ended Medicaid for illegal immigrants [2:51:47] and we launched the war on fraud, led by our great Vice President, J.D. Vance. It's having a tremendous [2:51:53] — — we're finding — we're finding unbelievable levels of — unbelievable levels of fraud. Minnesota, [2:52:02] that governor, is so crooked. Ilan Omar with her brother — so crooked. But it's all — it's all under [2:52:10] very serious investigation. We're finding billions of dollars — billions. In just 18 months, [2:52:16] we've turned this country completely around. And it's still — we're going to do still better, [2:52:22] but we have a turn. We're — we're hot. Jobs are up. Inflation is down. Our border is secure. [2:52:29] Factories are opening at record levels. Investment is booming. Michigan is thriving. America is winning [2:52:37] like never before. And again, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. With the help of our Republican [2:52:47] majorities in Congress, we will crush violent crime to the lowest levels ever. Impose harsh new [2:52:54] penalties for dangerous repeat offenders — they are very bad — crack down on Marxist prosecutors. [2:53:01] And we will end no-cash bail, which really got the crime started more than any other single event. [2:53:07] No-cash bail. You kill somebody and you walk out. We will pass the Great Healthcare Plan — that's [2:53:15] what it's called — the Great Healthcare Plan — to stop all payments to big insurance companies [2:53:21] and give the money directly to you, the people, so that they can buy their own healthcare, which will be [2:53:27] much less expensive and be a much better healthcare. Very simple. And the Democrats are fighting us on that [2:53:36] one, too. They're fighting us as hard as you can fight. Because you know what? They happen to be owned [2:53:41] by the insurance companies. The insurance companies receive billions and billions of dollars a year. [2:53:48] They own the Democrats. And the Democrats, they don't want to debate it. They just want to fight it. [2:53:54] And we want to give the money directly to the people. And you go out and you buy your own healthcare. [2:54:01] You'll get great healthcare and have lots of money left out. And we will continue to remove [2:54:07] dangerous criminals, drug dealers, human traffickers, and child predators from our country. [2:54:12] And we will always stand with the heroes of ICE and Border Patrol. They are heroes. [2:54:16] The abuse they're attacking. If you saw some of the people they have to deal with — if you saw the [2:54:24] toughness and the craziness and the — boy, oh boy — the roughest people really in the world — they were [2:54:31] led into our country by Biden and the group. By probably — I don't even know if he knew. [2:54:35] I don't even know that he knew people were coming in. I don't think they told them. [2:54:39] But they were coming into our country, and they are the roughest people in the world. [2:54:44] Remember, they used to say, oh, foreign people don't commit crime. They make our criminals look [2:54:49] like babies. It's the only thing good about them. They make our people look like absolute babies. [2:54:55] But they are — you don't get rough — Tren de Aragua, the roughest in the world. [2:55:00] They cut off people's fingers so they don't make a phone call. [2:55:03] You're going to make a phone call? I'd like to call the police. [2:55:05] Boom. Their fingers are gone. These are the roughest and worst people [2:55:09] in the world. They're out of here. We've got them largely out of here. [2:55:12] We can never let that happen again. We can never let it happen. [2:55:15] Single most difficult thing that I've had to work with. [2:55:20] And finally, we will pass the Save America Act through the [2:55:23] Senate — hopefully, the Senate — call your senators and put pressure on them. [2:55:30] We won't get one Democrat senator to get your voter ID with photo. [2:55:36] Need a photo? Be nice. Okay, good. You know, they want to — if they did ID, [2:55:40] which they don't want to do, they don't want a photo. Why don't they want to — you know, [2:55:43] at the Democrat National Convention, they had an identification card [2:55:48] that was bigger than most of the people's chests. It was hung on a chain with a picture [2:55:55] and every fact about this person you can imagine. But for voting, our most sacred thing, [2:56:01] you don't need — they say — voter ID. So we want voter photo ID. [2:56:09] And we want all voters showing proof of a thing called citizenship. Isn't that nice? [2:56:15] You read recently in New Jersey where tremendous numbers of people who found out that they were [2:56:22] on the voter rolls totally illegally. And that's all over the country. That's nothing compared to [2:56:27] what's going on in California and Minnesota and so many other states. And hopefully, there will be [2:56:33] no mail-in ballots. Mail-in ballots are inherently corrupt, except for illness, disability, military [2:56:40] deployment, or travel. If you're in the military, you're far away — absolutely. If you have to go [2:56:46] someplace, absolutely. But mail-in ballots have proven to be a disaster. We're the only country in the [2:56:53] world that in this form does them. There's no other country in the world because they're crooked. [2:56:58] They pass through too many hands. When you go to a voter booth — even me, I went to vote. [2:57:03] Sir, may I please see your identification? Sir, I'm so embarrassed. I know you're Trump. [2:57:09] Please, do you have some identification? I don't want to lose my job. I whipped out. I was lucky I had [2:57:15] some kind of a card on, man. And I didn't even know, but I gave it. You know, thank you, sir. [2:57:20] So, I'm so embarrassed. She kept apologizing. I said, don't apologize. You're doing your job. [2:57:23] That's what you're supposed to be doing. It was so beautiful. And we will enshrine [2:57:33] in permanent law — where we had a big Supreme Court victory the other day, but not complete — no men in [2:57:39] women's sports and no transgender surgery and the mutilization of your children. They mutilize your [2:57:49] children. So, ladies and gentlemen of Michigan, the golden age of America is upon us. We're in the [2:57:56] golden age. This is an age like no other. And the men and women of the American auto industry and [2:58:04] General Motors are leading the way. And I'm so proud of it because, as Brian and others in the room know, [2:58:10] I fought for this for years. I was here 25 years ago. I got man of the year. They — oh, by the way, [2:58:16] the press questioned that, and then they found out it was true, actually. And I made a speech, and all I [2:58:21] talked about was, why are you letting them steal your industry? I said, your industry is being [2:58:28] sold and is going to Germany and Mexico and Japan and South Korea and Canada. Why are you letting [2:58:33] it happen? They sold over 50 percent. It's all coming back. Who would think it's all coming back? [2:58:40] It's all coming back right now. More plants being built than at any time in the history of our country.
