What PageHawk Does

PageHawk is a Chrome extension that monitors webpage elements for changes and notifies you when something changes. You select elements to watch, and our servers periodically check those elements for changes.

What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the monitoring service:

• URLs you monitor — The web page addresses you choose to watch.
• CSS selectors — The technical identifiers for the specific elements you select on those pages.
• Element content — The text or attribute values of the monitored elements, used to detect changes.
• Email address — Only if you provide one for email notifications. Optional.
• Payment information — Processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your browsing history.
• We do not track which websites you visit (only the specific URLs you choose to monitor).
• We do not collect personal information beyond what you voluntarily provide.
• We do not use cookies or tracking scripts.
• We do not collect data from pages you are not actively monitoring.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

• Check monitored elements for changes on the schedule you set.
• Send you notifications when changes are detected.
• Display your monitor list and change history in the extension.
• Process subscription payments via Stripe.

Data Storage

Your data is stored on our servers in the United States. Monitor data, check history, and alert records are stored in an encrypted database. We retain check history for 90 days and alert history for 180 days, after which it is automatically deleted.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. The only exception is Stripe, which processes payments on our behalf under their own privacy policy.

Data Deletion

You can delete any monitor at any time through the extension, which removes the monitor and its associated data. If you want all your data deleted, contact us and we will remove your account and all associated records.

Security

All communication between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. API access is authenticated via unique API keys generated for each user. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely through API keys.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the extension or via email if you have provided one.
