So now we will take the public hearing item. 1G1, will someone please read that into the record? 1G1 is an ordinance relating to zoning the unincorporated area, amending Section 33-2.8487 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida, amending standard urban center district regulations to provide for certain digital point of sale signage in the downtown Kendall Urban Center District under certain circumstances, amending standard urban center regulations to provide for certain residential building identification signs, directing the county mayor or county mayors doesn't need to take certain action in establishing county policy relating to revenue sharing agreements and arrangements with respect to signage on county-owned and county-occupied properties, and establishing county policy as to how such revenue paid to the county should be used, providing severability, inclusion in the code, and an effective date. Maritza Harrell-Salgado with Office of 200 South Biscayne Boulevard here in support of this item. This ordinance directly supports the county's commitment to transit-oriented mixed-use development by allowing modern on-site advertisement for major developments within the downtown Kendall Urban Center. The ordinance is limited and highly regulated. It permits only one digital point of sale sign per eligible property. These properties must be located in the core or center DRI sub-district, be adjacent to transit stations, expressways, or highway, and have at least 300,000 square feet of retail space. This ensures the allowance is narrowly tailored for large regionally significant developments. Notably, the digital signage is restricted to on-site commercial use only. It can only advertise goods or services that are physically available at the property with no off-site or classy advertising allowed. The enhanced signage will improve wayfinding and urban legibility in large mixed-use developments, making it easier for people to navigate and access retail offerings. Beyond that, the ordinance establishes responsible public policy and encourages revenue sharing agreements for signage on county-owned properties delivering a clear public benefit. To conclude, adopting this ordinance supports transit-oriented growth, strengthens our urban center's economic viability, and includes robust safeguards to protect our communities.
