all right everybody i call to order the executive committee of the personnel committee for the 6th of april 2026 it's 1 30 on the dot we'll start with introductions we'll start on my right this time joe carlucci district 5 i'm carico district 4 nick howlin at large group 3 it's until council secretary mary stephopoulos office of general counsel hamsey council research kim taylor council auditor peterson councillor's office all right thank you very much let the record reflect all the other council members that were here for the previous meeting left so we could have this private discussion publicly all right number two on the agenda is discussion on the council auditor so mr president the purpose of this meeting is to discuss the proposed salary for mr peterson when he assumes the role of council auditor so that's really under the purview for this discussion i would recommend though that you get a motion on the table and if there are public speaker cards you take them up after them so that they know their comments are germane to the motion to be acted on by the committee is this is this a fresh card yes all right mr nooney come on down and take your two minutes please hello i am john j newney jacksonville city council resolution 2023 0819 min city council district 4 cpac 3 school board district 3 and you know i'm wearing my fwc hat it's play off the fish and wildlife commission you know the state of florida but it's got a new acronym now fishing with calculators and so i just want to say you know i am we all should be super excited about mr peterson and the council auditor position and you know right here you know uh make no mistake about it you know i can't say enough about both of them and and all the everything in the previous meeting so you don't know as far as going forward even with with salary and everything else you know um um i know you'll just do a really just good job with that and so uh no i just want to be on on the record uh uh supporting it and you know uh and also too to be sincere that all of a sudden i just think and i even wrote this down here tp taylor peterson taylor's taylor peterson council auditor park and i'm sure we can find find you know it's an acronym an account with some funding so again congratulations on everything and uh thank you for allowing and recognizing public participation 2017 160 before a vote is taken thank you all right thank you so let me ask this question what is the current salary of the current council auditor the current salary is 252 570 and 24 cents all right and in true auditor style would that be your recommendation for the next auditor so it aligns with the budget and all of the financials of which you are in charge of keeping track of yes sir definitely your decision but that would be my recommendation any thoughts from the newly voted in future auditor on this salary package thrilled to receive that salary all right that makes it easy for the committee mr vice president i think i'll turn it over to you i move to set the new council auditor's salary on may 28th to be equivalent to the council auditor's salary who will be departing position on may 27th in an amount of 252 000 570 and 24 cents is that correct would it make you feel better or worse if we made it one penny less or more miss taylor no keep it the same all right that is our motion i believe we have a second from the finance chair all in favor of that motion signify by saying aye aye any opposed say nay the ayes have it so mr president from that what we do is it just says in the code that the salary is set by written order of the executive committee so what we'll do is just pen a very simple letter for you to sign as chair that that can go on file with administrative services and employee services all right any other thoughts from the executive committee while we are gathered what other salaries can we eat now she says there are a couple but we will table that for another meeting and there's no new public comment on any new items so that leaves us to adjournment we are adjourned
